Salary:£27,000-£30,000 (dependent on experience)

Purpose of job

Our digital and social media platforms are central to our work, allowing us to reach and support more women and their loved ones affected by cervical cancer and cervical abnormalities. This role is responsible for increasing visitors to our website (jostrust.org.uk), developing and editing content, introducing new functionality and improving user journeys as well as managing our social media platforms.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Website

Maintain and update the charity’s website including:

  • Manage the development of the website and its functionality.
  • Act as main point of contact for digital support within the charity.
  • Work with external web developer to manage digital projects.
  • Create and develop new content including graphics and commissioning infographics.
  • Ensure all imagery is in line with our brand guidelines.
  • Liaise with other members of the team to coordinate new content and updates.

Website optimisation

Work to further optimise the charity’s website including:

  • Maintain and improvethe charity’s Google adcampaigns.
  • Use Google Analytics to monitor,analyse and improve user journey and provide regular reports.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure the website is integrated across all areas of our work.
  • Linkbuild and create opportunities to link with other websites.

Social media

  • Maintain and update the charity’s social media platforms including: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Develop the social media strategy in line with the organisation’s overarching goals.
  • Support national and regional campaigns through digital channels including social media, video and Google Adwords.
  • Maintain the social media calendar producing engaging posts and creating shareable content.
  • Monitor and respond to all our social media platforms ensuring a consistent tone of voice, quality of output and management of audiences and messages.
  • Manage the creation and delivery of our monthly e-newsletter.
  • Keep up to date with developments in digital and social media.

Other

Where appropriate represent the charity at external events

You may occasionally be asked to work outside of office hours or travel outside of London.

Work with other members of the team on special campaigns or projects that may be outside of the digital and social media arena.

Person specification

Knowledge and Experience
Essential / Desirable
A minimum of two years’ experience working within a digital environment
Educated to graduate level or equivalent, or relevant work experience
Proven experience of working on content management systems
Thorough understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and proven experience of using SEO techniques and tools to optimise content for search
Strong working knowledge of Google AdWords
Ability to work with web and social media analytics to measure and improve performance
Experience of project management and working to deadlines
Strong writing skills and experience of creating written and visual content for the web
Excellent grammar and meticulous attention to detail
A self-starter with an ability to work independently and as part of a team
Understanding of the benefits of using social media and experience in creating social content
Proven ability to work with internal and external stakeholders on digital projects
Ability to communicate topics of a sensitive nature effectively / Experience of using Drupal
Understanding of online user experience
Experience of working within health and/or the charity sector
Understanding of the media and integrated marketing campaigns
Experience ofediting images ready for import online using Adobe Photoshop
Experience of email marketing, ideally MailChimp
Experience of using Salesforce
Experience of using Form Assembly
Experience of Google Grantspro

Annual leave:Holiday entitlement is 25 days plus statutory bank holidays

Pension:Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust pays 6% of gross salary into a pension of your choice after completion of 2 years service
