2014 OQUENOCK PTA VARIETY SHOW
The Oquenock Variety Show will be held on FEBRUARY 7, 2014 at West Islip High School. There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal…date TBA.
If you have a talent you would like to showcase or want to participate in the show, please fill out the attached form and return it to the PTA mailbox in an envelope marked “Variety Show” no later than MONDAY DECEMBER 2, 2013.
The opening will be performed by the kindergarten students and finale will be performed by students from the fifth grade. If your child would like to take part in these acts please check off the applicable boxes on the attached form. Separate rehearsals will be arranged and you will be contacted.
To keep the length of the show reasonable, acts must be kept to no more than 2 minutes and please note you may perform in a maximum of 2 acts (this does not include the opening or finale). For example you may perform in a group number and a solo number or two group numbers. There will only be one act allowed to use each particular song, please keep this in mind if choosing a popular song. Song choices will be granted on a first come first serve basis. (The fifth grade finale will be performed to Katy Perry’s Roar, so please do not request this as your song choice). Confirmation of your act will be provided shortly after the December 2nd deadline.
All acts, including song language and themes, costumes and content should be appropriate for an elementary school audience.
We are also looking for a limited number of fourth or fifth grade MCs and stage crew. If interested, please check the box on the attached form.
