Establishment of cross sector MISP Governance Group
- A cross sector, multi-disciplinary Maternity Information Systems Project (MISP) Governance Group has been established to advise and support the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) to ensure MISP is successfully implemented and then maintained. The first meeting of the Governance Group was on 13 October 2016.
- Members of the group were nominated by their respective organisations and confirmed by the SRO. Membership of the group is as follows:

- Terms of Reference will be released once they have been confirmed by the Governance Group.
Development of MISP Programme Plan
- The Ministry of Health has also appointed a fulltime MISP Programme Manager, Catherine Torrance, to manage the strategic direction, operational oversight of MISP and vendor and DHB engagement.
- To ensure transparency with the sector, the project is being re-baselined and a project plan going forward will be developed. The plan will detail the key components of a successful programme, including: schedule, scope, resources, budget, dependencies, risks & issues, benefits etc.
- The programme plan will be be provided after the next Governance Group meeting on 10 November.
Contract with vendor
- Ministry of Health is working with vendor to negotiate the contract for MISP. DHBs will be consulted during the process, including those DHBs where MCIS has yet to be implemented
- It is anticipated that the contract will be in final draft stage by Christmas
