2016 King George Fall Festival Pageant Teen and Miss Queen
Dear Contestant:
The members of the King George Fall Festival Pageant invite you to compete for the title of 2016 King George Fall Festival Teen/Miss Queen. The King George Fall Festival Pageant Miss Queen’s pageant is open to single women between the ages of 16-22. The King George Fall Festival Teen Queen’s pageant is open to young ladies between the ages of 13-15. The age of the contestant is based on the age the contestant is on the day of the Fall Festival parade on October 11, 2016.
All contestants must be a resident of King George County and have never been married, nor have a child. The contestant must not be serving as Queen of any other pageant system that would interfere with the full participation of the King George Fall Festival. The contestant must be of good moral character and must always conduct herself in a lady-like manner. Miss contestants are responsible for securing their own vehicle for the parade. The contestant must be a King George resident, and readily available for activities. Our Queens must be willing to attend the 2016-2017 King George Fall Festival festivities to include the parade and pageant, and to participate as the 2016 Snow Queenfor the Women's Club in December.
The contest is scheduled for Sunday, October 11th at 2:00 P.M. at the King George High School Auditorium located 10100 Foxes Way King George, Va 22485. Please complete and return the entry form with your $60.00 entry fee for Miss Queen or Teen Queen to 8115 Kings Highway King George, Va 22485.
Please understand that King George High School will not be responsible for the loss of any personal belongings nor for any accidents or illnesses thatmay occur while you are at the high school.

Judging
There will be five categories of judging as described below. Each category is judged individually which means contestants can win multiple categories. The Introductions will not be judged.
Category 1: Interview 35%
Judged on overall appearance, poise, inner beauty, and confidence.
You will be asked questions about your life, your goals, and your accomplishments.
Interview style will be Round Robin for teen, and you will spend 5 minutes with each judge. (This will be explained in more detail at orientation). Interview style for Miss will be a 7-minute panelinterview.
Category 2: Personality Wear 25%
Judged on:
a) Does the outfit that the contestant has chosen fit her properly?
b) Is it age appropriate and stylish?
c) How well does the contestant show her personality while modeling the outfit of choice?
Category 3: Formal Wear 25%
Judged on:
a) Does the formal gown fit the contestant properly?
b) Is the gown age appropriate?
c) Modeling of the gown- graceful walk, smile, eye contact with the audience.
Category 4: Onstage Questions 15%
You will be asked two onstage questions during personality wear, and one onstage question if in the top five, to be judged on:
a) Your overall poise, composure, and confidence while answering
b) Eye contact with audience and judges
c) Content of remarks
Miss King George Fall Festival Contract
As a Miss King George Fall Festival Pageant contestant, I agree that all statements below concerning myself and my behavior are true and agree to the following guidelines for my conduct, before, during and after the pageant:
- Am a resident of King George County
- Must be female
- Must have never been married
- A contestant must be of good moral character and never have been pregnant and is not now pregnant nor the adoptive parent of any child and has not been involved at any time in any act of moral turpitude
- Previous Miss King George Fall Festival Queens are ineligible to compete
- A contestant, other than minor or petty offenses, must never have been convicted of any criminal offense and there are no criminal charges presently pending against her
- A contestant must not have never performed any act or engaged in any activity or employment that is or could reasonably be characterized as dishonest, immoral, or indecent
- A contestant must not use or consume any illegal controlled dangerous substances or abuse the use of alcohol or other dangerous substances
- A contestant must be in good health and can participate fully and without limitation in any program activities
- If I am selected as first, second, third, or fourth runner-up to the title of Miss King George Fall Festival Queen, I agree to be able to succeed to all of the rights and to assume all of the duties and obligations of Miss King George Fall Festival Queen
If crowned Miss King George Fall Festival Queen:
- If crowned Miss King George Fall Festival Queen, you cannot get pregnant during the year of your reign or title will be removed immediately. ***
- If crowned Miss King George Fall Festival Queen, you cannot get married during the year of your reign or title will be removed immediately. ***
- Must not defame the King George Fall Festival Pageant, the King George Fall Festival, the pageant Directors and/or Committee, and/or ANY of the pageant contestants both in the King George Fall Festival Pageant and Virginia Association of Fairs pageant, through any action of my own, whether it be oral, written or otherwise stated before, during or after the pageant. Defamation of the above named will result in automatic relinquishment of my title. ***
- Excessive tardiness to meetings and appearances will result in the relinquishment of your title. ***
- I will not consume and/or use alcohol and/or illegal drugs while wearing my banner and/or crown. Doing so will result in automatic relinquishment of my title and prizes. ***
- If crowned Miss King George Fall Festival, you cannot wear your pageant crown and/or official pageant sash at a public event or gathering unless approved by a pageant director.
- If crowned Miss King George Fall Festival, you cannot make an appearance as Miss King George Fall Festival without prior approval by a pageant director.
- Must attend the next year’s pageant to crown your successor.
- I agree that after the conclusion of my reign as Miss King George Fall Festival Queen I will not make public appearances wearing my crown and/or sash or public appearances for the purpose of advertising or endorsing any product, person or service unless pre-approved by the pageant.
Requirements to compete at Miss Virginia Association of Fairs (VAF) Pageant:
- The new Miss King George Fall Festival must meet all the deadlines for the state level pageant in a timely manner. Failure to do so may result in her not being able to compete under the King George Fall Festival’s paid entry fee.
- If deadlines are not met and/or the Miss King George Fall Festival becomes ineligible to compete, the Miss King George Fall Festival is responsible for refunding the Miss King George Fall Festival Pageant the entire entry fee amount (if already paid).
- The pageant shall have the right to choose and designate my chaperone and traveling companion during the Miss VAF Pageant.
- I will get approval of all types of preparation for the Miss VAF Pageant competition including but not limited to interview practice, wardrobe consultation, hair and makeup. For the avoidance of doubt, this means that the pageant directors must approve of all individuals who assist in the preparation for the Miss VAF Pageant before any consultations occur.
***If the Miss King George Fall Festival Queen’s title is removed, she must return the official Miss King George Fall Festival Queen sash, the official Miss King George Fall Festival Queen crown and crown pin, the entirety of the “Queen’s Package,” the reimbursement of monies if the state level pageant entry fee has been paid and the pageant has not occurred yet.
