SIT780 - Assignment 1

Preparation

You are required to work in a group of 3-4 persons. You are required to finalise your group membership early and commence working on the research report. Please email the group members by 5pm on Friday 9 March to the unit chair (). Please contact the unit chair if you need to be assigned a group.

Requirements

Assume that your team is responsible for R&D in the ecommerce arm of your corporation. Your team is required to prepare a report for the CTO explaining the concept of deep learning and how it can be applied in different contexts to ultimately improve customer experience in differentscenarios.

The assignment has two components.

1.Group Research Report- Your group is required to prepare a research report (4000-4500words)

2.Individual Research Report- Each member of the group is required to prepare an individual report to reflect their contribution in the assignment, experience and knowledge gained from the research, and comments (1000-1200words).

Assessment Criteria

1.TheGroup Research Reportshould broadlycover:

An Introduction - Provide an overview of deep learning and it's significance for enhancing user experience in scenario(s) of your choosing.

Review of Literature - Conduct research of case studies to identify contexts related to user experience in which deep learning can be applied. Extant literature may include books, magazines and/or scholarly articles. In preparing the report, use electronic resources accessible from the Deakin library website. Google Scholar ( is also useful to search for relevant material. Refer to solutions like Tensorflow library.

Future Directions - Emerging trends in deep learning and it's potentialapplications.

2.TheIndividual Research Reportshould broadlycover:

My Contribution - Provide an overview of your individual contribution to the group report. Recommendation - Clearly state a scenario of your choosing. In the context of the scenario, recommend a solution for adoption by the CTO.

Assessment is based around your ability to:

1.Critique thesolutions.

2.Make a coherent argument to support the recommendedsolution.

Provide appropriate referencing. If you do not reference the material you will losemarks.
