CONSTITUTION OF INDIA

NO. GH-SH-1SCT-1089-C-1075-91GH- In the exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the constitution of India and in supersession all recruitment rules made in this behalf for recruitment to the Engineering / Technology / Humanities / Science ( in different disciplines) in Gujarat Education Service Class-II (Collegiate Branch), the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Lecturer in Engineering / Technology/Humanities/ Science (In different disciplines) in the Gujarat Educational Service Class-II (Collegiate Branch) for Government Polytechnics under the Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat State, namely:-

  1. These rules may be called the Lecturer, Class-II, Engineering / Technology / Humanities / Science (in different disciplines) in Government Polytechnic Recruitment Rules, 1992.
  2. Appointment to the post of the Lecturer, Class-II, in Engineering / Technology / Humanities / Science (in different disciplines) in Government Polytechnics, in the Gujarat Educational Service (Collegiate Branch) shall be made by direct selection.
  3. To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in rule 2 a candidate shall –

(a)not be more than 35 years of age:

(b)Possess:-

(i)First Class Bachelor's Degree in Appropriate Branch of Engineering or Technology or its equivalent qualification of a recognised University, or First Class Master's Degree or its equivalent qualification in appropriate branch of study for teaching posts in humanities or Science of a recognised University :-

(ii)Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both;

Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate who is already in the services of the Government of Gujarat and candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes in Accordance with the provision of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, as amended from time to time.

Provided further that the age limit may also be relaxed in favour of a candidate possessing exceptionally good qualifications of experience or both

Explanation :-

(I)Degree or post graduate degree wherever mentioned will imply the degree or post-graduate Degree of a Statutory University/ a recognised University/ a deemed University.

(II)Appropriate branch means the branch as specified by the Department from time to time.

(III)A Degree/A Post graduate degree wherever mentioned will include "or its equivalent" as recognised by the state Government from time to time.

  1. The Selected candidate shall be on probation for a period of two years.
  2. The selected candidate shall be required to pass departmental examinations and an examination (s) in Gujarati or Hindi or both in accordance with the rules prescribed in that behalf by the Government from time to time.
  3. The selected candidate shall be required to undergo such training as may be prescribed in that behalf by the Government from time to time.
  4. The selected candidate shall be required to undergo such training and shall be required to serve Government for such period as may be prescribed from time to time.
  5. The selected candidate shall have to execute security and surety bond in such from and for such amount as may be prescribed in that behalf by the Government from time to time.
