PG&E’s Environmental Remediation Department is responsible for the cleanup of legacy sites impacted by past historic company operations or operations of our predecessor companies. Environmental Remediation manages remediation projects associated with manufactured gas plants, divested power plants, operating service centers, gas and electric operating facilities.

Position Summary

Environmental Remediation is looking for talented summer intern to help support various aspects of environmental remediation. The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities that includes, but are not limited to the following:
• Review technical reports/communications to and from regulatory agencies;
• Support Project Managers on remediation projects;
• Support the Stakeholder Engagement team in the development of internal/external communication strategies and product development;
• Support the enhancement efforts for the Geographic Information System (GIS) site remediation data layer;
• Create benchmarking documents related to project lifecycle costs and financial history and document these data;
• Assist in the preparation of Executive Project Committee (EPC) documents;
• Develop a repository for lessons learned;
• Support records management assessments and create a records management performance report;
• Develop an audit program for safety and compliance procedure(s); and
• Assist with process improvements for our contractor safety oversight process.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Currently a graduate or upper-class undergraduate student majoring in the one or more of the following fields: Geology, ecology, environmental studies, or civil or environmental engineering or a related major. (students MUST be continuing education towards degree during and/or after internship)
• Valid driver’s license
Desired Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
• Willingness to travel to remediation sites.
