The Huntley Area Public Library is an excellent source for Huntley historyphotosand information as are the publications “Images of America Huntley”, by Nancy Bacheller, “Huntley Centennial 1851-1951” by the Centennial Committee, and “At Home in Huntley, 1851-2001” by the Sesquicentennial Committee.

Entry Submission:

  1. Entries are limited to two separate entries per person. Each entry must have a separate Entry Form.
  2. A copy of the vintage photo scene must accompany the current contest entry photo.
  3. Current photographs should not include people in the scenes.
  4. Photos may be cropped and enhanced in a photo software program. If, in the opinion of the judges, software manipulation is extreme, the photo will be disqualified.
  5. All entries are due May 1, 2015.
  6. Photos will not be returned.
  7. Two ways to enter photos:

  9. Digital submissions should be saved as an 8x10 (10 megabytes) and sent to from

March 2, 2015,through May 1, 2015.

  1. A copy of the vintage photo should be digitally submitted with the current photo.
  2. The completed Contest Entry Form must be digitally submitted with digital entries.
  3. Digital submission of theEntry Form indicates Acknowledgement of the Original Work and Release Agreement.
  4. Submission will be confirmed by email within four days. If not, please, call 847.669.5386 ext. 28.
  1. Prints:
  2. 8x10 print submissions of the original photo will be accepted at the Huntley Park District Office, 12015 Mill Street, Huntley, Illinois, during office hours from March 2, 2015, through May 1, 2015.
  3. A copy of the vintage photo must be submitted with the current photo entry. It does not need to be 8x10.
  4. The Contest Entry Form must be completed and signed.
  5. The completed Contest Entry Form, the vintage photo copy and the current photo entry must be in a manila envelope.

Acknowledgement of Original Work and Release:

Everyone who participates in the Historic Huntley Photo Contest automatically gives the Huntley Area Public Library, the Huntley Historic Society, the Huntley Park District and the Village of Huntley the right to exhibit his or her entry and to promote the entry through publications and websites. These organizations will not be held responsible for any and/all damages or theft that may occur to submissions.

I hereby certify that I am the sole creator of my entry, that my entry is my new and original work, that I have not previously granted or sold any right in or to my entry or any copyright I may have therein, and that my entry does not violate or infringe upon any proprietary rights of any third parties.

The undersigned expressly waives all rights, claims and demands against the Huntley Area Public Library, the Huntley Historic Society, the Huntley Park District, and the Village of Huntley, their officers, employees and agents, related directly or indirectly to the display of my entry, and the undersigned further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Huntley Area Public Library, the Huntley Historic Society, the Huntley Park District, and the Village of Huntley, their officers, employees and agents, from and against any and all actions, claims, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, which in any manner directly or indirectly arise or result from the display of my entry.
