What Is A Farmshare?
Members purchase a yearly 'share' of our farm's harvest and each week receive a portion of the weekly bounty. Members support the costs of growing the crops , and we provide freshly picked produce throughout the season.
June through October, farmshare members enjoy the flavor and quality of garden fresh produce. Most of the share is picked the day you get it.
In becoming a farmshare member you are also securing a food source close to home and providing security for Rhode Island's family farms and open space.
What to Expect
Weekly shares are a composite of what's available on the farm at the time- availability of specific crops depends on the time of year, weather and harvest schedules.
Everything in your share is grown right at the farm, and you get the best of what's in season.
We grow a wide range of crops and each weeks we allow our customers some choice in their shares make-up.
Examples of vegetables grown:
June: spinach, salad mix, baby arugula, swiss chard, broccoli, spring turnips, radishes, kale, scallions, lettuce
August: tomatoes, summer squash, beans, beets, carrots, eggplant, peppers, basil, onions, fennel, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, celery
October: winter squash, sweet potatoes, garlic, parsnips, celeriac, cauliflower, broccoli
*pick-your-own cherry tomatoes are available when in season.
Where and When to Pick-Up
Shares are picked-up at the farm in wakefield (please see website for map and directions).
Pick-up days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or friday Pick-up hours are 4pm-7pm
Members will be assigned a pick-up day and will be expected to arrive on that day each week
What if I miss/can't make a pick-up day?
If you do not arrive on you assigned day (or send someone in your place) we will box a share for you, which will be available to you for the following two days between the hours of 4pm-7pm.
