October – December 2016

Walks Programme

Free, sociable, family friendly walks led by volunteers. No need to book, just turn-up.

Health Walks are aimed at beginners and those with long term health conditions. Typically under 90 minutes over easy terrain and accessible for most people. Health Walks are supported by Walking for Health (accredited by the national Walking for Health scheme managed by the Ramblers & Macmillan Cancer Support).

Level 2 and 3 Walks are longer, more strenuous and may include hills and stiles.

These walks are supported by Horsham District Council and some are organised in conjunction with groups such as The Horsham Society, Steyning Downland Scheme, Storrington Conservation Society and Horsham Town Community Partnership.

Celebrate International Older People’s day on 3 October 2016

Age UK Horsham District, works with older people to support them in staying “Full of Life”.

Older people are invited to join them in a free event from 10am to 4pm on 3 October 2016 at Lavinia House, Dukes Square, Horsham, RH12 1GZ.

Come along spend a morning, afternoon, or all day with us. We want people to try something different and in return we will provide them with a free lunch.

Try something new like Zumba, Pilates, Yoga or gentle armchair exercises; go for an informative walk around Horsham with the Horsham Society; learn to skype or use the internet; try flower arranging, sushi making or an art class; visit the new Horsham ‘Men in Sheds’ project and more.

If you think you might need help getting to the event, get in touch and we will try to help with the support of our partners at Horsham District Community Transport.
