Chairman Warren Stolp called the regular meeting of the Town of Nashwauk to order on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 7:07 PM in the Nashwauk Township Community Center. Members present: Warren Stolp, Robert Coughlin,Nichole Place, Beth Ann Mackey, and Karine Woodman. Members absent:Mark Engel.

A motion was made by Stolp and seconded by Coughlin to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Total receipts: $111,808.57. Total disbursements: $20,601.14. Total ending balance for the month: $84, 6006.39. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by and Stolp seconded by Coughlin to approve the clerk’s minutes of the last regular meeting. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Coughlin and seconded by Stolp to approve and pay all claims presented to the board for payment. Motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. A discussion on repairs Stolp met with Roger Saccomam to look at repairs. There has been no reoccurrence of rain waiting to hear back on drywall cracks from either Hammerlund or Roger.
  1. A discussion was held regarding the fees and length of rental at the hall. Michelle went over large events, garbage costs, extended usage, no overnights, and a cancelation policy in the discussion.
    *Motion by Coughlin, seconded by Stolp to approve s 3 consecutive day rental for event and add the fees to include $250.00 Weddings, $150.00 Funerals, and $75.00 Graduation Parties. Motion carried unanimously.
  1. A discussion was held regarding a donation to the Nashwauk 4th of July as in the past of $300.00
    *Motion by Stolp, seconded by Coughlin to approve donation of $300.00 Motion carried unanimously.
  1. A discussion was held on road update. Bob stated they have been doing road inspections and all culverts are in.

*Motion by Stolp, seconded by Coughlin to approve Schwartz bill and claim for price. Motion carried unanimously.

  1. No other old business was brought forward for discussion.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Renewal of certificate of deposit.

*Motion by Stolp, seconded by Coughlin to renew CD.

Motion carried unanimously.

  1. Rental of excavator for ditching. Bob got price and 15 hours free usage from L & L rental. He will obtain more bids before next meeting.
  1. Rate increase form Arrowhead ProCare Pool. Rate increase on insurance will be effective Oct.1, 2017 of 11%.

*Motion by Stolp, seconded by Coughlin to stay with Arrowhead ProCare Pool and rate increase.

Motion carried unanimously.

  1. Approve new clerk credit card

*Motion by Stolp, seconded by Coughlin to approve Beth Ann and Bob credit cards with a limit of $5000.00 and remove Hipsag and Woodman from account.

Motion carried unanimously.

  1. Transfer township telephone to hall office.

*Motion by Stolp, seconded by Coughlin to transfer telephone and pay costs.

Motion carried unanimously.

Karine Woodman recited Oath of Office to new clerk.

With no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Stolp and seconded by Coughlin to adjourn at 7:58 PM. Motion carried unanimously.

The next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 7:00PM in the Nashwauk Township Community Center.
