Acts 27 :29
q "Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
q Introduction:
o In verse # 10 Paul warned them not to sail!
o In verse # 21 Paul told them I told you so!"
o In verse # 25 Paul said, "I believe God!"
o In verse 31 Paul told them to "Stay with the ship!"
o Acts 27:31 (KJV) Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
Acts 27:22-26 (KJV) And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.
[23] For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
[24] Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
[25] Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
[26] Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

I.THE ANCHOR OF THE FAMILY !
A.Our FAMILY should be the object of our AFFECTION!
(Ephesians 5:25 "Men love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it.')
B.We should show our FAMILY APPRECIATION!
1.men it your job to have your family grounded in the things of god
C.We need to give our FAMILY the ATTENTION they deserve!
1.give your wife your love as a god fearing man
2.raise your children with the knollage that you trust the lord

II.THE ANCHOR OF FAITH!
Ephes. 3:17 (KJV) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Col. 1:23 (KJV) If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
A.We are saved by FAITH!
B.We serve by FAITH!
C.We stand by FAITH!
D.i’m anchored down but my ships breaking up stay in the ship BELIEVE god
III.THE ANCHOR OF FORGIVENESS!
Matthew 18:21-22 (KJV) Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
[22] Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
A.The need of FORGIVENESS!
1.as brothers and sisters in christ we have to keep our HEARTS pure
2.an unforgiving spirit will eat at you and destroy you
B.The nature of FORGIVENESS!
1.it heals the heart and RESTORES joy

IV.THE ANCHOR OF FELLOWSHIP!
Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. "
A.The importance of FELLOWSHIP!
1.the day of the lords return is nigh
2.it when we come together we
a)ENCOURAGE each other
b)learn the lords plans for our lives
c)and get refueled for the days ahead

q THEY WISHED FOR THE DAY WHEN THE STORM WOULD BE OVER!
q THEY WISHED FOR THE DAY WHEN THE STRUGGLE WOULD END!
o They had struggled hard and had done all they could do!
q THEY WISHED FOR THE DAY WHEN THE SUN WOULD BE SHINING!

q god will get you where he want you his way

o we are just passing thru
§ it may get rough the STORMS may fall
§ but god word shows us you may have to swim
· you may have to float an a board
· you may even have to grab on a PIECE of broken ship
o but gods word said
o Acts 27:44 (KJV) …..And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
