English / Make an alphabetical list of foods from A to Z. Is it possible? / Create a menu for your family to choose their breakfast, lunch and tea. Describe each item using adjectives or 2a sentences, making it sound as delicious as possible. Remember drinks too! / Create an information booklet about a festival that involves eating a special type of food (pancake day, Easter) Bring it in to show the class and to put on our display.
Maths / Write a shopping list for your family’s weekly menu and calculate how much it will cost. Make sure that you look out for any Fair Trade options and mark them on your list. / Practice your 2x, 3,x, 4x, 5x and 10x tables. Ask an adult to test you including division sums. Once you know them by heart, we can move you further along the times tables challenge board! / Visit the supermarket with your parent or family member. When they get their receipt at the checkout can you add up the first 5 items? Is it an odd or even number? Is it in the 5x table? Is it more or less than £10? Show your working in your homework book.
Creative / Research balanced diets on the internet.

Create a balanced plate and label it. Make sure that you identify each of the foods on your plate and explain the reasons for your choices. / Keep a food diary to record the different types of food you eat over the week. Remember to include drinks and snacks. Parents can help with spellings etc. / Choose 7 items of food, then collect some data from your family and friends asking them if they like the food or not. Can you create a bar chart showing how many people liked your choices?
Creative / Be just like Willy Wonka and design your own sweet or chocolate bar. Draw and label a colourful picture of the sweet. Underneath write a description telling me all about your new sweet creation. / Research 10 foods that come from different countries. Write them down and the countries (and continents) that you have discovered. / Ask an adult to bake with you at home, any dish you like. If you can, take photographs to bring into school and share with us. Write down the recipe that you followed in your homework book.
Creative / Design an exciting sandwich. Create your design in your homework book and label it. Write a set of instructions explaining how to make it step by step. See how creative you can be! / Find out the names of some real life chocolate inventors from the past. Where did they come from, what did they create? Write a paragraph about what you have learned. / Find out about how chocolate is made and where it comes from. Can you put your information onto a powerpoint and share it with the class?
