POLICY

1.01The following curricular and programmatic changes require approval of the Curriculum Committee and Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA).

1.02Program deletion and suspension requests only require VPAA approval, but must be submitted to the Curriculum Committee as informational items

1.03The appropriate external stakeholders (e.g., employers, postsecondary partners and/or accreditation agencies) should be consulted before academic program or curricula change requests are submitted to the Curriculum Committee.

PROCEDURES

2.01Changes which require Curriculum Committee consideration must be approved no later than the December prior to the academic year in which they are intended to be implemented to ensure sufficient time for consideration by the Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural & Mechanical Colleges and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education when appropriate.

2.02All necessary change request forms must be completed and submitted by the appropriate Dean via the Curriculum Committee SharePoint site at least seven (7) days prior to the Curriculum Committee meeting at which they are to be considered.

2.03New or modified course prefixes or numbers must be coordinated with the Registrar’s office prior to the submission to the Curriculum Committee.

2.04Schools with business before the Curriculum Committee must have a representative present for programmatic or curricular change requests to be considered.

2.05Change requests approved by the Curriculum Committee will be routed to the VPAA for consideration.

2.06The Office of Academic Affairs, in collaboration with the appropriate Dean, will pursue the necessary approvals by the Board of Regents for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

2.07The Registrar, Curriculum Committee Chair, and pertinent Dean will be notified of change request outcomes by the VPAA.

2.08Exceptions to this policy require approval by the VPAA.
