Length of Programme and admission details;

Students can learn with us on either a short term or long term basis. Typically, a short term placement is for half a term, although many students attend our programmes up until their exams.

Admission is made by submitting a registration form. Once a student account is set up the referring party are issued with a student username, password and instructions which are to be passed to the student. They are invited to an online induction session so that we can welcome them to the school and explain how everything works, what they can expect from us and what we expect from them. Once the induction session has been attended they will be issued with their timetable and invited to join live lessons.

AComputer Adaptive Baseline Test (CABT) used by MidYIS and Yellis may also be loaded to their portal for completion. This is an innovative assessment of developed ability which adapts the level of its questions to suit the responses given by the student. As a student answers questions correctly, the test responds to this success and increases the difficulty appropriately. It will also make appropriate adjustments in the reverse situation.The assessments help us to support each student with their studies, by assessing their ability and supporting our target setting/ predictions for their future success. These assessments are generally used to support longer term students.

Summary outline of programme including key aims;

Wey ecademy works with schools and organisations in the UK and abroad, to deliver qualified teaching to a range of learners. Our experience in delivering learning online has enabled us to perfect our teaching style. We are experts in our field and we have created a range of services specifically designed to meet the needs of the student and to complement their education regardless of their current situation or circumstance. We can offer short term support for a young person with the aim of re-engaging them in their education and we can offer a more comprehensive longer term service depending on what is required.

Our shared classes also make this a cost effective alternative to private tutoring or enrolment at a specialist centre.

Our family of online schools are able to meet the needs of a wide range of young people, with very different requirements.We aim to meet the needs of each individual student and will work closely with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that we are supporting them to achieve their desired outcome. The expected outcomes include, but are not limited to the following –

  • Successful reintegration to mainstream School.
  • Prevention of permanent exclusion.
  • Acquisition of GCSE’s, A-Levels or other qualifications.
  • Lowered risk of NEET, progression to mainstream post 16 provision.
  • Positive changes in Student’s attitude to learning, motivation, confidence and self-esteem.
  • Development of personal and social skills.
  • Improved attendance and punctuality.
  • Employability.
