OHIO SUPERINTENDENCY 1975 / 1981

Ordered and directed a three-year review and revision of the district’s total curriculum. Over 250 parents, teachers, students and administrators participated in the redesign of K-12 curriculum.

Reorganized an administrative staff according to the needs of 1981. This included matching management styles to positions throughout the district with appropriate changes.

Organized the community and professional staff within a plan which in nine months

afforded the Board of Education a set of district goals for adoption

A goal setting network was established in the district resulting in face-to-face contact with over three thousand people. Each participant was involved in a ranking process providing the Board with goal statements.

Implemented budget and appropriation procedures through training and accountability models which resulted in reduced expenditure patterns from 13% annually to 4% annually.

Implemented a Basics program in all elementary schools emphasizing grammar, spelling and mathematics.

Passed two operating levies and a $4.5 million dollar bond issue in a two year period.

Implemented a performance-based pay plan for district administrators.
