 COULD YOU HELP THOSE IN NEED

IN OUR CHURCHES?

It is not widely known that there is a churchDiscretionary Account, set up before my time here, as a result of a legacy left by a previous church member. It enables me as Rector (with the joint signature of the East Dean and Friston treasurer, to ensure appropriate accountability) to make specific, one-off payments to any particular individuals, couples or families in any of our three churches who are in need of one kind or another. No-one apart from me and the treasurer ever knows to whom the money goes.I would like there to be a bit more money in this account, to be honest, so that I am able to offer more help asappropriate.

Iftherefore you are someone who is in a position perhaps to donate to this account (and I appreciate of course many are not), you can do this directly (and I assume anonymously depending on how your bank operates) by making a direct bank transfer to the sort code and account number which is: Barclays sort code 20-27-91 account number 60710725.The basis for this account is simply the New Testament principle: "At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality" (2 Corinthians 8v14).David

 SYRIAN REFUGEES

Private landlords and property owners are being asked to help Wealden play its part in answering the desperate need of vulnerable Syrian refugees. Wealden District Council is looking to provide homes for Syrian refugees and their families currently living in unsuitable housing conditions in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Egypt.
Two refugee families have already successfully settled in Wealden but more properties are needed to help Wealden meet its aim of providing homes for up to 40 Syrian refugees over the next five years. If you are an owner or landlord with property to let in Wealden, or you know of someone who is, please contact Gemma Forshaw, Housing Options and Strategy Manager on 01323 443267 or
If you would like to offer other goods, services or support to refugees in Wealden, please go to
