Regional Team Qualifiers 2018

Qualification for the 2018 Regional Team will take the form of a Round Robin qualifying series.

Triples will pre-enter the series by the 1st April. No entries will be accepted after that date. A team may comprise of either three or four players, athree player team may nominate a fourth player / reserve at any time, providing that player has not already played in another team.The entry fee will be £15 per playerand MUST be enclosed with the entry form. Allplayers must have paid their 2018 Licence fee by the closing date and include their licence number on the entry form

The dates for this year’s qualification series are:

1.Sunday 22nd April at BSSC Bury St Edmunds

2.Sunday 20th May at St Faiths Centre Norwich

3. Sunday 10th June Venue to be announced(If Required)

NB If 16 or more teams enter, a third Qualifier will be necessary, once the number of entries is known then it will be announced if we need the 3rd Qualifier will be announced

Each team must be available for all of these dates

Start times will be 9.15 registration for 9.30 start.

INTER-REGIONAL TEAM QUALIFIER COMPETITION RULES 2018

Competition Format

  • The competition will take place over a series of Qualifying Rounds as required, dependent on number ofentries.
  • Each team entered will play all other entrants over the duration of the competition.
  • ALL teams must play in ALL qualifying events.
  • Entries will not be accepted unless submitted on the entry form.
  • Closing date for entries is 1 April 2018
  • Telephone and late entries will not be accepted.

Team Format

  • Teams on entry shall comprise of three or four named and licensed players.
  • No team shall play more than four players during the qualifying competition.
  • A licensed substitute shall be eligible to play for a three player team only provided that they have notplayed for any other entered team
  • All players must hold valid EPA licenses registered through the Anglia Pétanque Association and thesemust be available for inspection, if requested, throughout the competition.

Scoring

  • At the start of each Qualifier Event one member of each Team will be issued with a scorecard.
  • It is the responsibility of each team to ensure that this scorecard be completed correctly and returned tothe Playing Officer/Organiser at the end of play after each Qualifier Round; failure to do so may affectthe qualifying eligibility of that team.
  • Qualification Criteria
  • Only players who played in the Qualifying Events are eligible to play in the Inter RegionalChampionship & Challenge Competition
  • Teams MUST have played in ALL of the qualifying rounds. If a team fails to play in all of the rounds

their results will be void and deleted from the final standings.

  • Teams 1 - 8 will qualify by right in order of qualification as the Anglia Regional Championship Team.
  • Teams 9 - 12 will will qualify by right in order of qualification as theAnglia Challenge Team.
  • A Junior Team will be selected by the Regional Management Committee.

Team Qualification

The first twelve teams qualifying will be eligible by right to play in the Inter Regional Championships, as detailed above, based on the results from the overall competition, decided by the following criteria :

1. Number of Wins

2. Points Difference

3. Points For

4. In the event of all the above being identical then the head to head result shall apply.

Ratification of Results

  • At the conclusion of the Competition the results and Score Cards will be checked by the Playing Officerand a Scrutineer to confirm their accuracy and to validate the eligibility of participants.
  • These results will then be passed to the Committee.
  • The Committee will publish the overall results at the earliest opportunity.

Qualification Procedure

  • Qualifying competition to be round robin system.
  • Top twelve to play in order of qualifying unless a team requests to be placed lower, final decision to bewith the RMC
  • If one member of a three or two members of a four member team cannot play in the Inter Regional Championships then that team may play a substitute(s) who must have played in at least one of the Regional Qualifiers. If two or more players of a three member team or three players of a four member team cannot play in the Inter Regional Championships then that place will go to the next team down.
  • If a three member team wishes to add a fourth player they will be allowed to recruit a member of theirchoice who must have played in at least one of the Qualifier Rounds subject to the approval of the RMC

General

  • Any exceptions to the Rules can only be sanctioned by the RMC.
  • Final decisions to be made by the RMC who may appoint a Sub-Committee to deal with all matters

relating to the Qualification Competition.

  • All teams must attend team briefing at the commencement of each qualifying round.
  • If a team member is unavoidability delayed and misses the briefing then their Team Captain MUST inform of what was said at the briefing BEFORE they play a game.

NB : ALL TEAMS MUST PLAY IN ALL OF THE QUALIFYING ROUNDS

A TEAM NOT PLAYING IN ALL THE QUALIFIERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY IN THE FOLLOWING YEARS QUALIFIERS AS A TEAM. ONLY A MAXIMUM OF TWO PLAYERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO STAY AS A TEAM WITH THE OTHER PLAYER / PLAYERS ABLE TO ENTER BUT WITH OTHER TEAMS.

IN THE EVENT OF ANY DISPUTE THE REGIONAL MANAGEMENTCOMMITTEE’S DECISION SHALL BE FINAL
