I. KCS(Korea Customs Service)’ Activities in line with WCO capacity building
a. CCF_Korea (Customs Cooperation Fund)
KCS donates 1 million dollar per year as CCF_Korea to WCO starting from 2011.
KCS dispatched CCF-Fund Manager to WCO, and CCF_Korea will be used to operate programs such as internship at WCO, diploma program affiliated with universities, and several capacity building programs for developing countries.
b. WCO-Certified Instructor
WCO annually receives approximately 350 requests of capacity building, which means there is growing need for certified instructors in specialized area such as HS, Customs Valuation, and IPR.
KCS has produced two WCO-Certified Instructors, and plans to expand the pool of Certified Instructors by systematic training in order to meet diverse need for technical assistance of developing countries.
II. Customs Border Control Training Center of Korea
a. RTC(Regional Training Center) designated by WCO
Customs Border Control Training Center of Korea was designated as a RTC in Asia-Pacific region in 2010. CBCTC functions for logistics and facilitation of training programs in AP region and plans to enlarge its function to develop its own specialty program.
b. Customs Administration Simulated Training Program
KCS invested approx. 800,000 dollars to develop Customs Administration Simulated Training Program, which is to be completed in late Nov. 2001. This program is to be used by our own officials and also foreign customs’ trainees visiting KCS. In addition, KCS plans to develop e-learning module based on this CASTP, and disseminate it through WCO.
