Cerebral Palsy Sport Table Cricket Offer 2017 – 2018
Cerebral Palsy Sport aims to increase participation, raise aspirations, promote inclusion and help fulfil the potential of children and young people with disabilities. We achieve this through providing a range of disability and adapted sports. We provide sporting opportunities for children, young people and adults to develop their abilities and go on to achieve their sporting potential.
We also offer expert and specialist support to parents, support workers, teachers, teaching assistants, coaches, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, sports providers and other professionals on how to adapt sports for people with cerebral palsy.
Table cricket is a game for everyone to play and enjoy. Young or old, disabled and non-disabled, it is a great way to teach the basic rules of cricket all on a table top.
Cerebral Palsy Sport’s Table Cricket offer has 3 focus areas:Advice, Competition, and Learning & Development.
Advice
A dedicated contact at Cerebral Palsy Sport to offer support and advice regarding the game, supporting participants and promotion of regional and national opportunities.
Competition
National Table Cricket Final
- Open invite to 1 team from each region.
- Chance to become national champions.
- Finals held at professional cricket stadium.
- Opportunity to meet other players from all over the country.
Learning and development
New CP Sport Activator Course
- 2-3 hour course.
- For people age 16+
- Ideal for upskilling anyone who wants to deliver or support Table Cricket.
- Learn the rules, scoring and more.
- Ideal for community or school settings.
The activators course is then followed by a Cricketstart session.
Cricket Start
- A chance for the newly skilled activators to have a go at delivering table cricket whilst supported by CP Sport.
- PAN- disability.
- A fun session to allow people to experience table cricket
- Lead to the development of a regular opportunity to play table cricket.
- Organisation will be loaned a table cricket set.
Table Cricket Development Groups
- Open to all
- Meet 4 times a year.
- Player and coach development.
Umpire Training Courses
- Open to all 16+
- Umpire training for those that want to officiate at table cricket competition.
- Opportunity for umpires to officiate at National Finals.
Leaning and development what we need from you.
Firstly if you would be interested having a Table Cricket Activators Course and Cricket Start Event please complete the attached expression of interest form.
What we would need from you:
- An accessible venue with:
- A classroom
- A practical delivery space
- Development/continuation of a regular table cricket session either as a standalone or part of another activity.
- Regular updates of information from table cricket sessions.
- Photos from sessions.
