Direct Ministry Team: Student Ministry Department
Position Title: Pastor of High School Ministries
Reports to: Family Ministry Director
Principle Function
The Pastor of High School Ministries will be responsible for oversight and direction of High School Ministries in coordination and execution through the Student Ministry Department. The Pastor of High School Ministries will accomplish his/her duties through leadership and vision casting as well as recruiting, training and developing both adult and student leaders in biblical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with Family Ministriesteam to create and implement ministries that support overall strategic goals of VP2020.
Work in collaboration with Student Ministries team to create a ministry and programs that speak encouragement, truth and challenge into this generation.
Work with Student Ministry team to integrate outreach programming with weekend programming.
Work in collaboration with Middle School Ministry and groundzero programs to establish programs for effective transitions into High School Ministries.
Continue to develop and equip High School Leadership Team.
Recruit, train, equip and supervise all volunteer and intern staff in High School Ministry.
Develop meaningful relationships with students by spending time with them (i.e. stepping into their world) in various settings.
Oversee High School small groups and ministry teams.
Provide oversight & planning for special events (i.e. activities/trips).
Provide oversight/leadership for High School Worship Band.
Provide leadership for all High School programming & programming teams.
Develop and monitor High School budget.
Maintain meaningful contact and participation with parents of High School parents.
Provide the inspiration and intentional steps for the high school ministry to be increasingly multi-ethnic.
Performs any additional duties and responsibilitiesas assigned by Family Ministry Director.
Position Requirements
Demonstrates a heart for God.
A passion and love for High School students and bringing them to faith in Jesus Christ.
Cultural Competency so in personal relationship students and leaders from a variety of ethnicities can be fully engaged.
Leadership gift required, especially ability to recruit and empower lay leaders and teams.
Ability to mentor students and adult leaders.
A Desire to be a part of cutting edge Student Ministry team.
Competent in Bible teaching and speaking to Students.
Excellent communication skills – verbal, non-verbal, and written.
Proficient computer skills.
Ability to prioritize and focus on key objectives.
Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry and five years of leadership experience in a large church Student Ministry environment is preferred.
Bi-lingual in Spanish and English a plus.
Basic Personal Responsibilities

Maintain a vital and growing walk with the Lord through committed personal Bible study, prayer and stewardship of the resources given to them by God.
Demonstrate a servant’s heart as a member of the KCC team.

Model the KCC Mission, Vision and Core Values
Maintain proper priorities and balances in his/her life
Commit to personal evangelism opportunities within and outside of the church.
Actively worshipping with his/her family at KCC is an expectation.
