Media opportunity with many US stars includingPhil Raschker, 64, the most decorated masters athlete in history (the only masters athlete in any sport to be a Sullivan finalist for America’s top overall athlete along with open athletes Michael, Phelps, Apolo Ohno, and Lebron James)—Phil has already won two golds here in Sacramento and needs one more for her 100thworld championship medal. Other gold medalists here including 100-meter championJoyUpshaw(a Pan Am Games Coach), heptathlon champion Kay Glynn,and many other champions and stars can describe what it is like to compete against the best of the world here in Sacramento and the mission of masters track to achieve lifetime fitness and health through training and competition—these are role models for lifetime fitness through training. 7:50 PM MONDAY, AL JOYNER, 51, 1stAmerican Olympic champion in 80 years to win triple jump, 1984 Gold Medalist; also former triple gold medalist Florence Griffith Joyner’s husband and coach, and triple gold medalist Jackie Joyner Kersee’s brother (What genes and training values in that family!!); now coach at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. At 7:50 PM Monday. Joyner is jumper #3 in Flight 1 to attempt to qualify for Tuesday AM finals.

 Does he still have it or some of it? Come and find out! Then ask him about it.

6PM MONDAY, WILLIE BANKS, 55, former world record holder in open triple jump and PRESIDENT of the US OLYMPIANS (6000 past and present), who already won a silver in the high jump here, now jumps for the Gold in the final of his specialty triple jump. Can he win? To that question, Willie responds, “We’ll see.” So can you, and talk with him following his jumps. Willie is one of the most beloved people in all track and field, is the masters rep to the USATF Board, and is a wonderful messenger of the mission of masters track and field.
