Problem Statement
It has been determined that as the soles of running shoes degrade, the incidence of injury for runners using these shoes rises. Our goal is to develop a device that could be placed in a shoe sole that would indicate when a pair of running shoes is worn out to the point where new shoes are needed.
Restatement of Team Goals
Finish the power point slides for the mid-semester presentation and continue work on the report as well
Complete a preliminary prototype displaying the three different ideas we will be testing.
Individual Goals
Brant: Complete slides on background information including how shoes wear and what shoe soles are made of
Tim: Complete slides and prepare for presentation on background of stress strain and general material wear
Steve: Complete slides of problem statement, design constraints, and early design alternatives.
Brian: Complete slides on our final design alternatives, including design matrix and future work.
Summary of Accomplishments
Acquired things needed to build a preliminary prototype
Completed most of the work for the mid-semester presentation
Difficulties
None this week.
