Purpose of the Team
To maximise the take-up of Essential Christian resources and services through excellent and creative communications - from reactive customer service by telephone and email to proactive marketing campaigns across the full range of channels. A team with a passion for the ministry of Essential Christian and a commitment to innovation and excellence.
Main Purpose of the Job
To lead the Sales and Marketing Team in the development of overall strategy, empowering them to deliver to the highest level in their relevant areas. To identify new strategies for the growth of sales across the range of Essential Christian brands, including the development of new resources.
Event Activities
To contribute to the wider ministry of Essential Christian by serving on staff teams at various Christian events throughout the year. With responsibility for a variety of on-site activities, including, retail sales and volunteerleadership. Working extended hours which demand physical resilience and stamina.
Position in the Organisation
Reporting to the Chief Officer and part of the senior management team.
Responsible for the Sales and Marketing team which comprises marketing and customer service.
Representing Essential Christian at Christian events throughout the UK, giving leadership to volunteerteams and taking ownership of event activities, as required.
Occupational Requirement
This role has an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a committed and practising Christian. Job Description
Head of Sales and Marketing
Key duties and responsibilities
  • To develop new strategies for the growth of sales across the range of Essential Christian brands.
  • To identify or create synergies between brands and resources that will optimise marketing returns.
  • To lead the sales and marketing team in the development of overall strategy empowering them to deliver to the highest level in their relevant areas.
  • To maintain a hands-on approach where appropriate, especially in the development of new projects.
  • To bring identification of target audience needs.
  • To be responsible for the administration of the marketing database
  • To oversee market research activity, including customer surveys that seek to evaluate
marketing campaigns and inform future marketing strategy
  • To be line manager for the Customer Service and Marketing teams.
  • As part of the senior management team, to ensure good communication across all brands and internal functions.
Spring Harvest event
  • Working with other senior managers, participate in negotiations with Butlins to set dates, objectives, discount deadlines, marketing strategy and schedules
  • Brief the Marketing team to ensure that effective planning is implemented and objectives achieved
  • To develop new sales by targeting partner organisations, large churches and other groups
Fundraising/Spring Harvest Partners
  • To increase donor support by growing the Spring Harvest Partner network, developing appeals and exploring other options including major donors
  • To maintain close relationships and excellent communication with existing Partners
Retail sales
  • Working with the team to set sales objectives and develop marketing plans to maximise sales through the Essential Christian website and at events attended by the Essential Christian retail teams such as New Wine and Keswick
Spring Harvest Holidays
  • Working with the Marketing Manager and the CEO of Spring Harvest Holidays, to assist with the development of new resources and strategies that will increase sales
  • To oversee the activity of the Customer Service team in support of Spring Harvest Holidays with the aim of constantly improving efficiency and guest satisfaction
Events
  • To serve on staff teams at Christian events throughout the UK, leading volunteers and contributing to the fulfilment of event requirements in retail, technical, recording and other functions
Spiritual
  • To take an active part in the prayer life of the organisation, participating in weekly staff prayer meetings and retreat days to aid spiritual refreshment and envisioning
  • To attend staff meetings to ensure consistency of communication across the organisation andownership of the vision and purpose of Essential Christian.
  • To contribute to a working environment of mutual Christian encouragement in
relationships and working practices, by upholding Christian standards in accordance

Terms and Conditions of Employment
Job Title:Head of Sales and Marketing
Contract Status:Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours:37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday)
Mandatory lunch break of 30 minutes’ each day (unpaid)
Additional hours when preparing for and working away at events
Annual Leave:25 days per annum (increasing by 1 day for each complete year
of service to a maximum of 30 days )
+ Statutory Bank Holidays
+ Recovery day for each 7 consecutive days worked at events
Company Sick Pay:23 days per rolling 12 month calendar period
Salary:On application
Pension: 5% of salary contributed into workplace pension
Group Life Assurance:Lump sum benefit of 2 times salary payable to next of kin,
subject to qualifying criteria
Probationary period:6 months, with interim review at 3 months
Notice period:1 week, increasing to 3 months on satisfactory completion of
