Name:______Date:______

Directions: Capture all shots using a tripod to stabilize your camera. Slate each shot. Record each shot to last at least 10seconds.

Hint: Shoot with a purpose. The camera operator should note when the counter begins recording and record a few seconds more than is needed.

  1. LS of a building- Let your picture show the depth of the building. Use corners and foreground to give dimension and composition.
  2. Over the shoulder shot of someone winking at another person. This shot is set up to show the outline of the person being winked at. Use the rule of thirds to place your subjects.
  3. MS Pan of a person walking down a sidewalk. To properly capture this shot, you will need to allow the person to enter the screen, pan with the person steadily, and then allow the person to exit the screen.
  4. Low Angle Shot MS of a person –This gives the feeling of a superior individual.
  5. High Angle Shot MS of a person –This gives the feeling of aninferior individual.
  6. Use of foreground – Compose a shot that uses foreground to show depth in the picture.

7,8 9 – Three shot sequence. Use three different shots to capture a

sequence, by using one establishing shot and two close-ups from different

angles.

10pts. Label your tape (not the case), on the spine as follows:

Extra Credit: 10pts if done correctly

Rack Focus - Record with two subjects in your picture. Use a shallow depth of field and adjust the focus so that one subject is out of focus while the other is in. Continue recording and switch the attention of the viewer by racking the focus to the second subject.
