OPEN CALL to UK artists and/or creative professionals

for one-month residency in Indonesia

The British Council is working with various Indonesian cultural organisations to offer one-month residencies in Indonesia to emerging artists and/or creative professionals living and working in the UK. There are seven residency opportunities in different locations in Indonesia.

This programme is part of the British Council’sUK/Indonesia 2016-18 season, which aims to build new relationships and collaboration between the UK and Indonesia.

Each of our host partners is looking for artists or creative professionals to suit to their organisation's specific needs and objectives. The residencies will take place between February to September 2017 (the exact timing is to be agreed between artists and hosts).

Guidance notes

  1. Please ensure that you have read thoroughly the details on our website of the entire programme and what our partners are looking for.
  2. We ask for images or examples of your recent work; if you are not able to provide us with a website or downloadable online link please send high quality images in one PDF file with captions (under 1MB is preferable).
  3. Please do not change the formatting of the application and do not exceed the word count.

Biography: Please provide a short biography outlining your background, practice, what inspires you and what interests you. This should be a concise summary. (300 words max)

Legacy
Please indicate how a residency with the preferred host will benefit you at this stage of your career, practice and development. Include details on how you would use your time in Indonesia and how you plan to share your experience with your peers and/or audiences when you return. (300 words max)
