I.Welcome

II.Direction 1: Safe and Supportive Learning Environment

a.Early Release-Schedule for middle school will be 1st through 4th period. Students will eat during 4th period. Discussed early release agenda.

b.Safety-Mrs. Gonzalez, assistant principal, reviewed how to access EOP plan online. Distributed Buddy teacher checklist and family reunification process. Assigned members to read pg. 27 of Reunification process in EOP plan.Campus Safety Committee members need to visit link to take training online on Emergency Operation Processes. Principal reminded teacher to use the door magnets provided to them.

III.Direction 2: College and Career Readiness

  1. RTI-Ms. Arellano, counselor, spoke about RTI process and shared information of where RTI forms are located in the J-drive. RTI will take place Nov. 15th.
  2. Science Fair-Elementary Science Fair is Nov. 5th
  3. Author’s Wall-Ensure that work samples are displayed in the bulletin board.

IV.Direction 3: Highly Qualified, Effective Faculty and Staff

  1. Instructional Rounds-Principal spoke about procedures for Instructional Rounds: Lesson plans available, bulletin board updated, and ensure Fundamental Five objectives posted.
  2. Dragon of the Month for October-Hector Pacheco

V.Direction 4: Home, School, Community Partnerships

a.Date changes-Moving Story book parade for Monday and Halloween costumes. Dance on Friday K-2 at 12:00, 3-6 at1:00 and 7-8 at 2:00. Jeans and red shirt for Friday.

Motion to vote for minimal nutrition day to be moved from Friday to Monday.

a. Community meeting scheduledfor Tuesday, 10/25/16 at 5:30

VIII.Open Forum

  • Mrs. Dana Zais recognized our Watchdog dad, Mr. Torrez. Updated committee on buddy bench that was donated by Home Depot.
  • Upcoming Mom’s Math nights and father’s and Son’s movie night
  • Christmas program discussed (two people from each grade level volunteer to help out with Christmas show). All grade levels are encouraged to participate in Christmas program.
  • SHAC committee-Mr. Torrez will be parent representative and Mr. and Mrs. Zais.
  • EPAC Meeting Report-Technology update: process to order apple products, technology district rep. is Mrs. Ayala.
  • Question for free dress for Mondays-We will not start free dress on Mondays until further notice
  • Rubric for Generation Texas Week for November to decorate classroom doors with University of your choice
  • Rizo doing great! Spoke about not infringing copyright rules.
  • Missing some WAGS and writing plans. Need to be submitted as soon as possible.
  • Attached is the Buddly List we will use in emergency situations (for example, if our buddy has a sub, we will make sure they are ok to handle the situation)
  • Nov. 2nd - OptionalRTI Pre-meeting with counselors to ensure we're on the right track
  • Date changes clarification - Only the Dance will take place this Friday. On Monday, we will have Storybook Parade, Haunted House, Druss Up in Costumes, and Food Day)
  • Mr. Garcia has lost his 25 year pin and is offering a $5 reward is found
  • Per Mr. Garcia, snack time can't be regulated and we can't tell students what they can and can't have (we can only encourage good habbits)
  • Fumigation took place last Friday
  • For Generation Texas week, we will follow a rubric in which every teacher adopts a college. This will be a Long Term Project that Mr. Garcia feels is VERY IMPORTANT
  • Friendly reminder to sign the Employee Handbook
