Selection Criteria For National Honor Society

Students are eligible for induction into Piketon’s National Honor Society if they have;

  1. Maintained at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average through at least five semesters of high school work. (Candidates must have attended Piketon High School for a minimum of one semester to be eligible).
  2. Received two foreign language credits, two science credits, and two math credits (Algebra 1, Algebra 2, or Geometry).
  3. Participated in at least one Serviceactivity during their freshman, sophomore, or junior year.
  4. Served in at least one Leadershippositionduring their freshman, sophomore, or junior year.
  5. Maintained the following attributes of strong Character:
  1. Open willingness to assist faculty, staff, and classmates.
  2. Demonstrates highest standards of honesty and reliability.
  1. No recorded pattern of cheating
  2. No recorded pattern of intentional dishonesty
  1. Exemplifies desirable qualities of personality.
  2. Cooperates by complying with school regulations.
  1. No recorded pattern of skipping school or classes.
  2. No recorded pattern of knowingly violating school rules or regulations.
  1. Upholds principles of morality and ethics.

*Any member who does not maintain the above standard by which he/she was inducted may be placed on probation and/or dismissed from the National Honor Society.
