Selection Criteria For National Honor Society
Students are eligible for induction into Piketon’s National Honor Society if they have;
- Maintained at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average through at least five semesters of high school work. (Candidates must have attended Piketon High School for a minimum of one semester to be eligible).
- Received two foreign language credits, two science credits, and two math credits (Algebra 1, Algebra 2, or Geometry).
- Participated in at least one Serviceactivity during their freshman, sophomore, or junior year.
- Served in at least one Leadershippositionduring their freshman, sophomore, or junior year.
- Maintained the following attributes of strong Character:
- Open willingness to assist faculty, staff, and classmates.
- Demonstrates highest standards of honesty and reliability.
- No recorded pattern of cheating
- No recorded pattern of intentional dishonesty
- Exemplifies desirable qualities of personality.
- Cooperates by complying with school regulations.
- No recorded pattern of skipping school or classes.
- No recorded pattern of knowingly violating school rules or regulations.
- Upholds principles of morality and ethics.
*Any member who does not maintain the above standard by which he/she was inducted may be placed on probation and/or dismissed from the National Honor Society.
