POLICIES: LATE WORK, TESTS, RETAKES AND PROJECTS

TESTS: If a student is verified absent on test day, s/he will have ONE WEEK in which to make-up the test. This may be done after school or during academic seminar (sign up sheet on classroom door).

If a student is unverified absent on test day, the score will be zero.

RETAKES: Students will be allowed ONE RETAKE on each unit test.

There will be no retakes on the Final Exam.

Students must take (not just schedule) the RETAKE within TWO WEEKS of the original test date. This will allow for you to request Academic Seminar for the following week if you'd like. Once the two-week window has passed, no retakes will be allowed. There are no exceptions to this deadline.

Students are not guaranteed to get into World History Academic Seminar for retakes or make-up tests. If academic seminar does not work out, the student must arrange to take the test within the arranged time period after school.

Students are expected to put in additional study of the material prior to re-taking any test. Students must complete any missingnotebook reading guides for the unit assessment they are retaking before being allowed to attempt that assessment.

The higher of the two scores will be used for the grade book.

Any student with any score will be allowed to retake.

LATE WORK: Formative work will be taken up to the date of the unit assessment without penalty, but will not be accepted for credit once the unit is completed.

PROJECTS AND PAPERS:Major projects and papers will have an initial due date with a one week window. Work turned in during this time qualifies to be redone if not up to standard. After projects are graded and returned, there will be an additional one-week time window where students can revise their projects for the possibility of a higher grade. Students who do not turn in projects during the initial “on time” period forfeit the ability to revise their projects and must take the first grade earned.

CLASS RULES: THE THREE R’S!

1. Ready: Be on time (with your stuff) and show respect to myself and your classmates!

2. Respectful: LISTEN when others are speaking. Do not use profanity or put downs. Write on your assignments only! Possess only your property. Know when it is appropriate to get out of your seat—ask to use the restroom. Throw all garbage in the trash. USE COMMON SENSE.

3. Responsible: Have all materials with you EVERYDAY and your work done on time! Materials to include are your book, notebook, pencil or pen, and a folder/binder. Do not complete assignments in pen colors that are hard to read or handwriting that is illegible.
