Liberal Arts – Associate of Science Degree

Introduction and Rationale:

The University of Wisconsin-Superior maintains an educational partnership with the Wisconsin Technical Colleges to provide opportunities for students to enter bachelor’s degree completion programs. In the interest of fostering cooperation between our institutions, and to better serve the transfer of students from Chippewa Valley College to the University of Wisconsin-Superior, the faculty and administration of our institutions have established this articulation agreement.

This Agreement specifies the transfer of credit from Chippewa Valley Technical College’s Liberal Arts-Associate of Science Degree to UW-Superior.

Successful completion of the CVTC courses specified below, and the additional specified courses from UW-Superior, will meet the requirements of the CVTC Liberal Arts – Associate of Science Degree while meeting all requirements for General Education at UW-Superior. The UW-Superior courses may be completed online through the university’s Distance Learning Center, or on campus.

Requirements:

Students from CVTC must have completed the above-named program with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5/4.0 for consideration for transfer under the terms of this document. No course with a grade lower than Cmay be transferred.

All UW-Superior general education core and knowledge category requirements not met by transfer credits must be completed.

Up to 50 credits from the program named above may be transferred as listed above.

Elective courses taken at CVTC which are not listed in this agreement may be reviewed for transfer by faculty at UW-Superior on a case by case basis.

64 total credits are required to complete the Liberal Arts -Associate of Science degree from CVTC.

Completion of a bachelor’s degree from UW-Superior requires a major and minor or comprehensive major program for minimum of 120 total credits. A minimum of 30 credits must be earned at UW-Superior in order to be awarded a degree from UW-Superior.Students must maintain a 2.75/4.0 grade point average in upper division courses, andcomplete a final project (Senior Experience) to fulfill graduation requirements for abachelor’s degree. Other program requirements may also apply, as listed in the UW-Superior Catalog.

Conditions:

This agreement is limited to University requirements for completion of a Bachelor’s degree only. Students seeking certification for licensure in particular fields must complete any additional requirements for such certification.
