CEO Diary Update w/c 15th August 2016

Last week’s update :-

  • Meeting with Bridget Warr, UKHCA about the 5 Nations Care Forum meeting – to discuss agenda etc
  • Update conference call on My Home Life 3rd cohort expressions of interest – this information will issue to members in Sept/Oct 16
  • Meeting with Katrina Godfrey and Joe Reynolds about the Programme for Government – how the process will work and what the next stage for consultation is.
  • Meeting Colm Lucey First Choice Purchasing – to see how we can get more engagement from ihcp members – this has proved a very successful savings initiative with care homes in RoI and I believe could be of real benefit to ihcp members.
  • Telephone call with Joyce McKee, Regional Safeguarding to discuss the plans for a Safeguarding workshop for ihcp members – we are planning to run this on 14th October ( next members forum date) and we hope to include reps for safeguarding from each of the Trusts and reps from RQIA – the purpose will be to consider the new guidelines and to try to get to a standard approach across all Trust areas.
  • Contact from the Arts Council who wish to discuss working with care homes in their 3 year plan ahead
  • Telephone call with TTM about international nurse recruitment – date for meeting to be set when we have appointed a project lead
  • New meetings schedule issued to members and seeking feedback on input/content

  • Meeting with Michael Williamson, ASM to discuss a sector data gathering exercise
  • Meeting Karen Moffett, Rutledge recruitment about international nurse recruitment
  • Meeting Chair for an update and discuss next directors board meeting
  • Short brief paper on care home tariff for the adviser to the Health Committee

This masterclass will be delivered by Jane Ball, Principal Research Fellow, University of Southampton, on Monday 12 December 2016 commencing with lunch at 12.30pm until 4.00pm in the Europa Hotel, Belfast.
