Take a journey across Europe with Kieran Hurley(winner: Critics Award for Theatre in Scotland for BEATS) as he hitches a lift from Glasgow to L’Aquila, Italy inheartfelt theatre showHitch (“Warm, generous…unexpectedly moving…” The Observer). Kieran made his way to L’Aquila on 27th June 2009 where the leaders of eight of the world’s most powerful countries met on 8th July that year to make decisions on the future of the world at the G-8 summit. Join Kieranfor this warm autobiographical performance about global leaders, compassionate strangers, a young man and his thumb which asks questions about the meaning and purpose of political protest, the limits of personal power, and the genuine possibility of change.
The second performance as part of the double bill isCrunch by Gary McNair(“A sneakily clever performance…” **** The Guardian), a hilarious performance about the value of money. Gary believes you’ve got what it takes to complete his five-step programme and that you can be liberated from the tyranny of money forever. Is it a lecture? Is it a test? Is he serious? Find out in this entertaining and thought provoking live experiment.
