Organizational Location and Reporting Lines

·  The SM position is located at UNFPA premises at 70 A Nahda Street, Sarayat El Maadi, Cairo, Egypt
·  The SM will be reporting to the Receptionist/Building Maintenance Clerk under the overall supervision of Egypt CO Admin/Finance Associate

Job Purpose:

To provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout UNFPA EGYPT Country Office by ensuring Office and Cafeteria cleanliness daily and keeping all office areas neat and tidy.

Major tasks

-  Wash sinks with detergents;
-  Wash and wiping off kitchens counters;
-  Clean microwaves and electrical kettles;
-  Collect garbage and wash garbage bin;
-  Polish kitchen furniture by using wood surfaces cleaning products surfaces;
-  Sweep and/or mop the floors;
-  Wash/replace the cleaning towels;
-  Clean the refrigerators once a week;
-  provide cafeteria support to country office staff
-  provide support in office meetings and events
-  maintain /replenish the kitchen supplies and refreshments
-  provide messenger support to the CO staff when needed
-  Alternate for the office receptionist when needed
-  To perform any other office duties as requested

Work Schedule:

The SM will report to UNFPA premises on full time basis to perform the above tasks for UNFPA Egypt CO office in accordance with UN working hours and calendar.

Work Relations

The incumbent will carry out the above tasks in cooperation with:
·  Internal contacts include CO representative, the Assistant Representative, members of the CO’s programme/technical support team, the Operations /support team

Job Requirements

Education:

High school graduate.

Experience:

- 3-5 previous experience as a in a related job (office boy/messenger/Janitor)

- Previous experience in international/multinational firms/organizations is preferable;

Languages Requirement:

- Good knowledge of the national language of the duty station. Ability to understand and speak English is an asset;
