2016 Counselor-In-Training Application Form

The counselor-in-training (CIT) program at Treasure Valley Scout Reservation (TVSR) is designed to offer individuals who are interested in becoming camp staff members the opportunity to experience camp life in a different way than just attending with their troop. The CIT program is open to males and females who are 14 or 15 years of age. Utilizing Junior Leadershipskills, a CIT will aid camp staff and campers throughout the week.The CIT program offers young teenagers the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of what camp staffparticipation is like and an opportunity to participate in a leadership training program. The TVSR CIT program carries a two week minimum commitment. CIT’s may attend more sessions at the discretion of administration. CIT's attend in a capacity of a counselor in training; they do not participate when camping with their unit.

PLEASE DO NOT MAIL MEDICAL FORMS, ALL FORMS MUST BE BROUGHT TO CAMP.

There is $100 Fee for CIT Program Participants. CIT’s will be given one free CIT uniform shirt, they may purchase additional ones. It is expected that they keep themselves clean. Tent room and board apply to resident camp programs. The first week will serve as a probationary period. We reserve the right to ask a CIT to leave the program if he/she does not comply with TVSR guidelines. As Scouts, we conduct ourselves according to the aims and methods of scouting as stated in the Scout Oath and Law. CIT’s should ask their Scoutmaster/Leader to email a letter of recommendation to the camp director. If a CIT is not a current Scout then a letter of recommendation from an educator or coach will suffice. .
