Arizona HERDING Opportunity

Norman Close Sheep Dog Clinic

March 19 to 20, 2011

Raised on a mixed farm in Lancashire England, Norman has been working with livestock all his life. He now lives in Coeur d’Alene with his wife Vickie after immigrating to Alberta Canada in 1980 to work as a herdsman. Norman’s trial career started in 1997 with 6-month-old CV Joe, a dog that took Norm to the Canadian Finals in 2005. They left with the title of Champion.

Norman’s training style is Win-Win. He believes if you show dogs how to do it right, they never learn how to do it wrong. Helping the dog succeed—rather than fail—eliminates confusion and creates good habits!

The Clinic will be to at Soda Springs Ranch, Middle Verde, AZ.

There is a round pen, two large fields to accommodate all levels of dogs and handler’s. Sheep are farm flock sheep and there is a mixture of St. Croix & Dorper cross.

Clinic start time is 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM both days with lunch break. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM on Saturday night. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to start time for the Continental Breakfast and to set up.
