Programme Coordinator (second DRAFT)

30 hours per week, flexible time available.

Salary:pro rata £17,000 - £18,500 depending on skills and experience.

This position is integral to the current work of Musical Keys and the organisation’s plans to expand its service delivery further. The post holder will be required to review existing service delivery and be responsible for the future development of a structured programme of activities suitable for a range of ages and ability types. The role will be exciting, creative and fast paced and the post holder should be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with a range of staff and clients and be able to develop structured and meaningful programmes for delivery to our service users.

Duties will include:

  1. Provide a central point of contact for music and movement staff; music and movement leaders, assistants and volunteers
  1. Be responsible for establishing and developing our music and movement activities,ensuring the suitabilityfor various age and ability groups. This includes designing and implementing bespoke music and movement activities as required by service users.
  1. Develop training and development programmes to ensure all music and movement staff are confident, competent and up to date with the services offered by Musical Keys.
  1. Institute regular meetings for music and movement staff to ensure they are fully engaged with Musical Keys policy development and implementation.
  1. Ensure the quality and integrity of the delivery of Musical Keys sessions.Regularly review all music and movement sessions and make changes as necessary to ensure they remain appropriate and fit for purpose.
  1. Assign music and movement staff and volunteers to existing and new programmestaking their skills and experience into consideration.
  1. Maintain accurate recordsof all activity and produce reports for the General Manager as required.
  1. Work closely with the General Manager, reporting any issues of poor attitude, behaviour or performance on the part of music and movement staff, including volunteers.
  1. Work closely with other members of the office team.
  1. Coordinate the training of Trustees, including the mandatory annual attendance of a Musical Keys session, and report any issues to the General Manager.
  1. Liaise with Musical Keys partners reporting any problems or issues to the General Manager.
  1. Any other duties deemed relevant to the post by the General Manager and Board of Trustees.

Qualities required:

  1. Knowledgeable programme coordinator, project coordinator or curriculum coordinator with a background and understanding of music and movement therapy and development.
  2. Experience of a wide range of musical styles including the use of music technology.
  1. Knowledge and experience of working in a social care, charitable or health organisation.
  1. Good IT skills including the use of Word, Excel etc.
  1. Very good interpersonal skills. Can communicate effectively verbally, in writing and on the telephone.
  1. Well organised and can manage competing deadlines.
  1. Professional manner and understands the need for confidentiality.
  1. Flexible, good humoured and can use initiative appropriately.
  1. Good team worker.
  1. Prepared to travel throughout Norfolk primarily, but occasionally across East Anglia.
