Comments from PRG
Chair hadmade contact by e-mail with the representative who had expressed an interest – Chair had issued dates of next meetings.
Citizens Reference Panel
Ashfield North PPG Chairs had met on 15/5/17, under newly elected Chair, who also sits on CRP. All PPGS are struggling to recruit younger members. CRP workshop in September is focussing on how PPG can interact with family NAPPG has released guidance on recruitment PPG awareness week is 19-24 June and there is a COPD workshop on 12/9/17. Discussion took place on costs of DNA’s, A&E admissions and ambulance call outs, looking to disclose on media boards. Next North Notts meeting is 20/7/17 at Ashfield Medical Centre.
Correspondence
Chair produced a listing of correspondence that he had received:
26/6 – PPG members invited to discuss planning of GP services over next 5 years;
OTC posters relating to cost of purchasing certain medication OTC as opposed to prescription (e.g. paracetamol is over 14 times more expensive on prescription than OTC);
CCG looking to establish “working groups” to look at use of online services at GP surgeries;
Dementia Friends Training events are being coordinated at Ashfield District Council;
Practice is heavily involved in task group for Patient Activation Measures;
Chair to send copy of Network news to Assistant Manager
Health Promotion
It was suggested that another event should take place before a decision concerning the provision of a microphone is made.
Self care event
The Chair confirmed that tables still need to be sourced for the event. Assistant Manager to check contact groups to ascertain if it is possible to contact via e-mail
Prostate cancer event
Chair had contacted NNPCSG and confirmed the date as 5/10/17. Full details of speakers had been confirmed.
Funding Opportunities
Treasurer to contact local councillors regarding possible funding after the local elections.
Chair informed the Group that the application for a grant that supports participation in health issues had been received by the funding organisation.
Election of Officers
Existing Treasurer confirmed that he is happy to continue for 2017-2018.
HIP Website
Assistant Manager to upload details of FLO onto website.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
The Assistant Manager advised that the Research Team from Clinical Research Network East Midlands would like to attend a HIP meeting later in the year.
Chair to invite representative from Walking for Health to July meeting.
