WA-ACTE Awards Program

Deadline for Awards is May 1, 2011! The Washington Association for Career and Technical Education Awards Program seeks to promote excellence in Career and Technical Education by recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the field, programs that exemplify the highest standards, and organizations that have conducted activities to promote and expand Career and Technical Education programs.

There are 11 categories of WA-ACTE awards for 2011:
·  Lifetime Achievement Award
·  Distinguished Service Award
·  Hall of Fame
·  Award of Merit
·  Outstanding Service Award
·  Program Award for Excellence in Teaching
·  Support Staff Award
·  Ed Erickson Career and Technical Teacher of the Year
·  Outstanding Career and Technical Educator
·  Outstanding New Career and Technical Teacher
·  Outstanding Teacher in Community Service
All awards are administered by the Association’s Awards Committee. The committee, chaired by an individual selected by the current WA-ACTE president, is responsible for recommending awards programs to the Association’s Executive Board, setting criteria for awards, reviewing applications, and recommending award recipients to the Board. All awards will be presented at the Association's annual Summer Conference.

13 Annual Maritime Career Day 2011

Contextualizing Math into CTE 2 day workshop in Vancouver WA May 24-25. This workshop is free to Washington CTE/Math partnered teams. Teams must consist of one CTE, one Math teacher, and an Administrator. Participants will learn the process of contextualizing lessons, see lessons demonstrated, and begin to develop lessons that are classroom ready.
