Efficient and Hygienic - the innovative PWD 750 Combi Tank

Dimplex heat pump / solar system will only require one buffer tank in the future

Kulmbach, March, 2009. The use of an efficient combi-system of heat pumps and solar collectors usually requires two separate buffer tanks for heating circuits and hot water supply. The PWD 750 combo tank from Dimplex fulfils these two demand profiles, meaning that less space and work are required for installation, and the costs are reduced. Supplying hot water is done based on the continuous-flow heater principle and is thus extremely hygienic.

The Dimplex combi-system, comprising a heat pump and solar collectors, offers a great advantage over conventional combi-systems thanks to the PWD 750 combo tank: The PWD 750 functions as a buffer tank for the heating circuit and simultaneously prepares the hot water supply. The two cylinders which are normally required are no longer necessary.

This is made possible in that supplying hot water is not dependent on a constant back-up of hot water being available on demand but on the fresh water principle i.e. similar to a continuous-flow heater which heats the water directly as it is needed. A significant advantage of this method is the high hygienic value of the principle whereby water is heated directly when it is drawn.{}

The generously dimensioned and highly effective heat exchanger of the PWD 750 makes it possible to heat the water to the desired temperature at minimal tank temperatures. Additionally, layered technology ensures that the contents of the tank are not mixed with the heat return flow

In this way, the heating system reaches better performance values, minimising energy costs thanks to its high efficiency.

Furthermore it is possible to integrate a further heat source with up to 9kW into the system. In this way, a solid-fuel heating device used to supplement the solar collectors with a maximum output of 9kW. To separate the solar fluid and the heating water, an intermediate heat exchanger is recommended as an additional accessory for solar operation.

In addition to the space-saving assembly, the installation and transport of the PWD 750 are also extremely easy. The device is delivered with a separate insulation jacket and cylinder which means it can be easily transported to the boiler room.

The compact and efficient Dimplex combi-system is suitable for installation in detached and two-family houses with up to 8 occupants; it can be installed in small utility rooms and provides faultless hygiene when it comes to drinking water quality.
