Duncan Abate - Partner, Mayer BrownJSM
/ Duncan has been in Hong Kong for nearly 16 years. It is his home. He heads up the Employment and Employee Benefits team atJSM. His clients include many of the largest employers in Hong Kong. He is well known within the HR industry and is a regular commentator on draft legislation and policies relating to HR matters. Duncan hasserved on the General Committee as well as the Business Policy Unit of the British Chamberfor the last 2 years. Before that he wasa member of the Scottish BusinessGroup. With the increasing regulation of the employment environment in Hong Kong Duncan is confident that he cancontinue toadd valuable expertise to the General Committee of the British Chamber.
Deborah Annells - Managing Director, Azure Group
/ Debbie Annells is the founder and Managing Director of AzureTax Limited, a leading international tax advisory practice based in Hong Kong.
She is the author ofHK Tax Planning Legal Tax Loopholes, the coauthor of CCH’s A Practitioners Guide to Trusts and is a frequent key note speaker and tax columnist.,
Debbie has been a member of the General Committee since 2004 and is an active member of the Chamber. Sheinitiated and implemented the Chamber's very successful Financial Services Interest Group (FIG), in 2003. During 2009 FIG initiated over 20 Chamber events and submitted many written commentaries on Government consultation papers. FIG is the largest and most active group within the Chamber and continues to attract many new members to the Chamber.
Debbie has the vision, energy and the drive to continue to represent FIG on the General Committee. She has been based in Hong Kong for16 years andhas onedaughter, age 17.
Paul Brough – Partner, KPMG
/ Paul Brough is the senior partner of KPMG Hong Kong. Hejoined KPMG in 1983. He was promoted to partner in 1991 specialising in the audit of financial institutions. In 1996 he was appointed to lead KPMG's Financial Advisory Servicegroup in Hong Kong which deals with transactions advice, forensic services, restructuring and insolvency. He now has responsibility for KPMG'sAdvisory business in Asia-Pacific.He is currently a vice chairman of Britcham.
Paulis married, with three boys and has been involved in a number of non-profit making organisations. In addition to his business interests, he has a keen interest in environmental issues and education for special needs children."
David Dodwell - CEO, Strategic Access Ltd.
/ Mr. Dodwell is a public policy consultant and former Financial Times journalist who has worked in Hong Kong for the greater part of the past three decades. As such, he has deep roots into the Hong Kong Government, into the Legislative Council, and the media community which can be of help to the British Chamber in its marketing and communications initiatives. He is intensively involved in think-tank work for government agencies and pro bono organisations, and has sat on a number of Government advisory bodies, positioning him well to reflect business views in general, and the views of British business in particular, in a wide range of policy areas
Robert Gazzi – Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers
/ Robert has lived and worked in Hong Kong for approximately 25 years. He is a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and during his time in Hong Kong, Robert has advised many of Hong Kong’s leading companies together with numerous multinational corporations with operations in Hong Kong and China and also throughout Asia. For a number of years he has been an active member of the Chamber and in recent years has served as a member of the General Committee and the Real Estate Committee. If elected to the General Committee he will continue to use his experience and energy to promote the interests of Chamber members and the Chamber itself in Hong Kong, in addition to continuing to contribute to the work of the Committees noted above.
Mark Greenberg - Group Strategy Director, Jardine Matheson
/ I have been working for Jardine Matheson for 4 years, all of which have been based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Jardines, I spent 16 years in the City in London as an investment banker with Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and its predecessor, Kleinwort Benson.
The Chamber provides an important interface with Government and other relevant bodies in Hong Kong, representing the views of members on key issues of interest, as well as providing information and analysis on a wide range of relevant topics.
If elected to the General Committee, I would continue to support the good work of the Executive in delivering these objectives, as well as ensuring the Chamber best addresses the views and interests of the membership as a whole."
Anne Kerr – Director, Environment Division, Mott MacDonald Hong Kong Ltd
/ As Chairman of the Environment Committee ( 2007 – 2010), Anne assisted in the preparation of submissions to the government onclimate change, air and water quality objectives, sustainable development, theCE's policy addresses and participated in the debates on a wide range of topics of interest to Committee Members and the Community at large. For over twenty years Anne has been contributing to raising awareness of environmental and sustainability issues through her work as a Consultant as well as by serving on various committees of professional bodies including HKIE Environmental Division (founding Committee Member) and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (as Chair, and International Trustee and Council Representative). Her Chamber priorities for2010will include focused lobbying of government in terms of environmental improvements, sustainable development and recognition and action on climate change andenergy and water resource issues.
Nicholas Loup – Chief Executive, Grosvenor Asia Pacific
/ Nicholas Loup, aged 49,isChief Executive of Grosvenor Asia Pacific, a director of Grosvenor’s main board and member of Group CEO’s executive committee. He established the operation in Asia Pacific in 1994 and now Grosvenor has offices in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Shanghai when Grosvenor operates as a principle and property fund manager. Nick is a Director of Asia Standard, a listed company in Hong Kong; a General Committee member of the British Chamber of Commerce and a director of the Spinal Cord Injury Fund. He is also Chairman of the Asian Association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate Vehicles Limited (ANREV) of which he is a founder member and a member of Asia Pacific acquisition committee of the Tate.
Timothy J. Peirson-Smith – Managing Director, Executive Counsel Limited and Executive Counsel (Macao)

Timothy is the Chairman of the Chamber’s Business Policy Unit (BPU) and is also an active member of the Construction Industry Group and led the drafting of the Chamber’s Policy Address submission in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Timothy was the founding Chair of the Environment Committee (2005-2007). In addition, Timothy has, for the last five years, authored, led and contributed to numerous submissions to the government on environment, competition policy, sustainable development, English language radio and food labeling, and organised a wide array of speakers to address Hong Kong’s local and global challenges. Timothy has been Managing Director of public affairs/government relations and public relations/brand building consultancy, Executive Counsel Limited for over seven years. Timothy has worked in Hong Kong for 20 years and proudly calls Hong Kong his home. In addition to leading the drafting of the Chamber’s Policy Address and Budget Submission in 2008-2009 and 2009-2010, his Chamber and BPU priorities for the coming year will include focused lobbying of government on behalf of the business community on issues including Hong Kong’s regional competitiveness, minimum wage/poverty alleviation, competition policy and review of Hong Kong’s tax base. Timothy is married with three children and a dog.
Christopher Pratt – Chairman, Swire Pacific Ltd/John Swire & Sons (HK) Ltd./ Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd/Swire Pacific Offshore Ltd./ Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. /Swire Properties Ltd / Swire Beverages Ltd
/ Christopher Pratt joined the Swire group in 1978 after graduating from Oxford University. He has held various management positions within the group in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Australia and Papua New Guinea where he was awarded a C.B.E. for services to trade and the community. He became Chairman of the Swire group in Hong Kong in February 2006. He is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, and a Non-Executive Director of Air China. Christopher Pratt also serves on the Board of The Hong Kong Community Chest, General Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, and Council of The Hong Kong Management Association and The Employers Federation of Hong Kong.
He is married with three children.
Nicholas Sallnow-Smith – Chairman, The Link Management Limited
/ Nick has been Chairman of the Board of The Link Management Limited since April, 07. He was an executive at Standard Chartered in 2007/8 after 7 years as Chief Executive of Hongkong Land, and is now an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Boards of Dah Sing Financial Holdings Ltd and Wynn Macau, Ltd. Prior to that, he spent 7 years as a Finance Director & Treasurer with the Jardine Matheson Group. His early career was spent in Her Majesty's Treasury in London.
Jeremy Sheldon – Asia Pacific Managing Director of the Markets Business , Jones Lang LaSalle
/ Jeremy is currently the Asia Pacific Managing Director of the Markets Business for Jones Lang LaSalle. He has recently returned to HK from a 2 year secondment in the US setting up the JLL International Desk. Before that Jeremy was the Chairmen of the Chamber's Real Estate Committee. Jeremy has lived in HK for 18 years and been in the property industry in Europe, the US but most significantly in Asia. He brings international perspective to the challenges faced by both occupiers and developers as Asia competes on the world stage. He hopes this experience will benefit the Chamber in its mission. Jeremy is active in all property bodies of HK and is on the China board of RCIS.
Kevin Taylor – Managing Director, Asia Pacific, BT
/ Kevin is currently co-Deputy Chairman of the British Chamber and also Chairman of the Chamber’s IT committee. Kevin is also Deputy Chairman of ESF (English Schools of Foundation) and Chairman of the HKFC Mini Rugby section. Kevin has resided in Hong Kong for nearly 16 years and is Managing Director in Asia Pacific for British Telecom which with including its JV’s total over 30,000 staff in the Asia region.
Kevin brings to the Chamber a wealth of experience in both communications and technology. Kevin and his team are regularly consulted by the HK government on IT matters and the IT Chamber committee is a tremendous asset to the Chamber.
Kevin is very active from a sports and social perspective in HK and is a member of Hong Kong Jockey Club, Hong Kong Club, Hong Kong Football Club and Hong Kong Cricket club.
Andrew Weir – Partner, KPMG
/ Andrew has lived in Hong Kong since 1991. Andrew is the partner in charge of Property and Infrastructure at KPMG in China and in Asia Pacific. He is married with three children studying in Hong Kong and is involved in various non-profit making organizations. Andrew is committed to serving the Chamber. He was involved in the inception of the KPMG BritCham Rugby Dinner and the Captain of Industry series and is the Honorary Treasurer of the Chamber.
