Arizona State University – Master of Science with Emergency Management Concentration
Arizona State University is offering a Master of Science degree with three concentrations one of which is in Emergency Management. The program is offered in residence or entirely on-line via distance learning. For the on-line option, students will enter the program in January as part of a cohort group and graduate 24 months later in December. Students will be those working in professional fields such as Environmental, Health and Safety, environmental engineering, emergency management, national or local regulatory and permitting activities, environmental law, environmental laboratories, etc. While various undergraduate degrees are acceptable students should have at least one course in inorganic and one course in organic chemistry. The cohort group will take two web-based courses each fall and spring semester for four semesters. Each group will be required to go to Phoenix for a three-day period each January for program introductions/updates, laboratory experiences, and establishing sound networking within the field. Other activities and essentials not easily accomplished by distance learning will be assigned. In the final semester students will be required to work with a faculty member via distance learning to complete a six-hour research block and an applied project credit.
