POSITION TITLE: Marketing Director (exempt)
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Marketing
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for creating, developing and implementing the overall strategic marketing direction in order to meet corporate business and marketing objectives for multiple shopping centers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time):
Strategic Planning
· Develop and execute an annual marketing plan which strategically impacts core objectives
· Research sales and traffic trends routinely and address major changes in market
· Follow corporate policies and procedures for all programs/promotions
· Implement all programs and events professionally and timely including fulfillment and execution
· Measure overall impact of local programs on traffic and sales
· Implement advertising campaign, upholding and maintaining the brand strategy
· Negotiate promotional agreements and media added value
· Maximize promotional dollars through trade-outs
Financial Accountability
· Create an annual marketing plan and accurately budget income and expenses
· Allocate marketing funds appropriately to support key goals and objectives
· Maximize marketing dollars by analyzing ROI on major expenditures
· Monitor monthly income and expense variances
Event Planning and Execution
· Develop and implement events and promotional programs to increase traffic and sales
· Secure partnerships with key community organizations
Public and Community Relations
· Establish and maintain favorable community relations to enhance the image and position within the community
· Keep an up-to-date media contact list and build network of media contacts
· Distribute press materials in a timely fashion
· Monitor all local press coverage
Social Media
· Ability to utilize social and digital media tools for tenant and center promotions
· Keep informed and adapt to newly emerging technologies
QUALIFICATIONS (Education and/or Experience): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
· A bachelor’s degree and two to five years of strong marketing, management, event or advertising experience in a related field
· Shopping center marketing experience a plus
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, selling and negotiation skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with others
· Sound fiscal management and budgeting skills
· Word, excel and power point skills
· Social media skills
· Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings
· Strong team building with ability to work independently
· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
