Week beginning 27th March 2016

Easter Sunday

Today, Easter Sunday, we are celebrating the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. Peter tells us in the first reading all the prophets were pointing to Jesus; The Resurrection is the fulfilment of
Gods plan for His people in sending His only Son Jesus to save us and is the fulfilment of Jesus' obedience to his Father’s will and what He came to
accomplish. This is the essence of our faith that our sins are forgiven and we can have everlasting life if we believe in Jesus as our Saviour. We are
all given free will; we have a choice; but Jesus tells us 'I am the
Resurrection, He who believes in me will never die...' This is the
condition for eternal life. We all want to live forever, it’s up to us; we cannot fully understand as it is a mystery but we need to enter into this mystery. We can rejoice today in a living Jesus who died for us and promises to be with us to the end of time.

Easter Prayer
Lord, the resurrection of Your Son
has given us new life and renewed hope.
Help us to live as new people
in pursuit of the Christian ideal.
Grant us wisdom to know what we must do,
the will to want to do it,
the courage to undertake it,
the perseverance to continue to do it,
and the strength to complete it.
