JOB TITLE: Campaigns Officer / DEPARTMENT: Volunteer Officers (Student Voice)LOCATION: Students’ Union / REPORTS TO: VP Activities

Context / The Students’ Union is an independent body affiliated to the National Union of Students and exists to support students in both their academic and non-academic experiences; whilst working closely with the University and local community
Student Leaders are elected by the student body, and supported by the staff’s expertise to deliver services and represent student needs; to enhance the experience of all students at the University of Lincoln.
Job Purpose /
To represent students on matters relating to the scope of the relevant Campaigns Group, and to lead on the organisation and delivery of campaigns to increase awareness of issues faced by students whom you represent. You will also support the Vice President Welfare & Community in the delivery of cross-campus campaigns.
Each Campaigns Officer will be responsible for one of the following groups of students at the University of Lincoln: LGBT+, Disabled, Women, Black & Minority Ethnicity, and Mature.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key ResponsibilitiesTo Chair Committee meetings for their Campaigns Group
To represent the views of the Campaigns Group members to the Students’ Union, the University and nationally through attending All Student Members Meetings, Campaigns Network Meetings, and working closely with the Union’s Student Leader Team
Identify issues raised by members of the Campaigns Groups and feed back to the Union’s Executive Committee via the VP Welfare & Community
To lead the Campaigns Group committee to organise and deliver campaigns and events which increase the awareness of issues faced by the students you represent
To work as part of the Campaigns Network and with the Vice President Welfare & Community, to increase the impact of campaigns by sharing ideas and networks
To ensure the Liaison Officer within the Campaigns Group is supported to liaise with other networks across the University to increase the impact of campaigns
To support the development of Campaigns Groups at Lincoln by attending meetings and events
To ensure Equal Opportunities and Zero Tolerance policies are fair to members and are always adhered to, and to support and encourage these commitments across Campaigns
To support the planning and delivery of campus wide campaigns led by the Executive Committee and in particular the Vice President Welfare & Community, to improve the Student Experience at the University of Lincoln.
To work with Sports and Societies to ensure inclusivity and diversity are considered and actively promoted throughout their activities, including engaging sports and societies in campus wide campaigns.
To work with Academic Representatives to ensure that all Reps champion inclusivity, equality and diversity through their work, and actively support and promote cross campus campaigns.
To raise the profile of their Campaigns Group at the University of Lincoln and make links with similar groups in the local community
To work with student volunteers to actively promote cross campus campaigns.
To promote to the members of the Campaigns group, the work ready skills that are obtained through actively participating both in the Group’s activities and delivering cross campus campaigns.
In addition, undertake such duties as may reasonably be requested and that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.

Keep abreast of relevant national and local developments and attend conferences, training events and meetings as necessary.
Maintain confidentiality in respect of all areas of the job responsibilities and be aware of current policy relating to the Data Protection Act 1998.
Engage in appropriate training programmes as identified by your line manager.
Actively follow and promote ULSU policies.
Some attendance at meetings outside normal office hours may be required.

Are you passionate about representing student views on specific issues, gathering feedback and ideas to ensure that everything you do is evidence-led and in the best interest of students?
Can you confidently manage projects and events in an organised and effective way, in order to get the most from them, effectively managing your time?
Do you have an interest in campaigning for equality and promoting it across campus?
Are you passionate about supporting and representing groups of students with specific needs, interests, and experiences?
