January 2015 Volunteer List

Important Reminders:

v  Please mark down all dates for which you committed and read all instructions in this document carefully.

v  If you learn that you can no longer honor the commitment, you must secure a replacement NHS member that was inducted in Nov 2013; both parties must email us at to make the switch valid.

v  Remember to dress appropriately and wear close toed shoes (unless directions specify otherwise).

v  Remember to arrive 10 minutes prior to your shift time to allow for parking and signing in.

v  You are required to stay the duration of the shift or event.

v  Be sure to print and complete any required paperwork: ex – Clearwater soup kitchen volunteer form and habitat for humanity participant form.

v  Lastly, and most important, please always remember to sign in and out with a board member. If you do not sign in or out, we do not have a way to document and honor your volunteering.

v  Exceptions: RCS Food bank and Clearwater Soup Kitchen require you to print and document your own hours on an NHS signature sheet.

NHS Valentine Care Packages

Step 1 – Obtain an APO flat rate shipping box and a blank U.S. Customs form from the post office.

Step 2 – Go to http://www.anysoldier.com/WhereToSend/ and find someone to receive your care package. Read the descriptions carefully; often the soldiers make specific requests based on needs.

Step 3 – Obtain a minimum of 10 donated items from the following list or based on soldier’s requests. Step 4 – Write a thoughtful letter or Valentine’s Day card

Step 5 – Bring your donations, shipping box (unsealed), soldier name and complete address and a blank custom’s form to the media center on Feb 6th after school. We will be checking off participation and helping you complete the form.
