Dear Parents/Guardians,
Thank you for partnering us in keeping our P6 pupils in prayer during the PSLE examinations. We would also like to assure you that the school will continue to monitor the PSI readings closely and manage the pupils’ well-being according to the guidelines from the MOE. In the event that any pupil feels unwell, he/she is to inform the teachers or report to the General Office for help.
GMSP Celebrates
Children’s Day
A series of activities have been lined up during recess time for the pupils this week leading up to the Children’s Day celebration on Thursday. We would also like to inculcate the importance of giving in the pupils. Hence we would also like to encourage the pupils to give generously to the Community Chest through Sharity Elephant envelopes that will be handed out to the pupils.
The Think! Contemporary Exhibition
The exhibition features our pupils’ artworks inspired by SAM's ‘Once Upon This Island’ Exhibition in conjunction with SG50. The various themesexplored in the pupils’ artworks include: Identity, Heritage, Nationhood, Globalisation and Communities.
The exhibition will also feature artworks by pupils from CHIJ - Our Lady Queen of Peace, Fuchun Primary School, Haig Girls' School, Mayflower Primary School and St Anthony's Primary School. The exhibition will be held at the Singapore Art Museum (SAM), 71 Bras Brasah Road, from 8th – 28th October 2015.

Sharing of school values
We continue to explore the school value of Passion for Learning. We often associate this value with learning in the area of the academics. However, the pupils’ passion for learning is often shaped through their daily experiences be it from school or from home. Here’s a poem to help remind us what shapes the pupils’ learning.
Children Learn What They Live
If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

Road Safety
As many of our pupils use the crossing outside the school compound at the intersection of Aljunied Crescent and Geylang East Central, we would like to encourage all cyclists to dismount from their bicycles as they cross the traffic junction. This will ensure the safety of all road users. We seek your understanding and cooperation on this matter.
SUPER Upgrading
We appreciate your patience as we await the upgrading works to resume hopefully by November. Please trust that the school is working closely with the food caterer, Nonya Manis to provide good quality and nutritious meals for the well-being of staff and pupils at GMSP. Thank you for your support and feedback thus far.
