Activity briefof T-UnionEntrepreneurship Competition

  1. Introduction

T-Union Entrepreneurship Competitionhelps young talents to take their first steptowards entrepreneurship. We try to light the fire of entrepreneur education in the campus through this activity, and to incubate students’ ability in finding marketing chances and business partners.

  1. Qualification

Students,postdoctoral fellowsandresearch assistantsfrom universities in Taiwan and sister universities abroad of Tsing Hua

Notification:

  1. The limit of team members:
    Teams from Taiwan: Team leaders are fromuniversities in Taiwan.The maximum is 5people who can come from different schools.
    Teams from International: Team leaders are from sister universities abroad of Tsing Hua.The maximum is 2 people who can come from different schools.
  2. Each teams can invite 1 instructor (not required for qualification)from their affiliationsuniversities if needed.
  1. Grants for Teamsfrom International

For teams which attend the 1strun competition: The program office will offer travel accommodation including 5 nights campus stay during March 14thto 19th, 2018 for 2 members and 1 instructor (not required for qualification).

For teams which attend the finals:The program office will offer travel flightsand accommodation including 2 nights campus stay during Jun24th to 26th, 2018for theteam leader.

3 competition categories: Technology entrepreneurship, Social entrepreneurship and Micro- entrepreneurship

Competition process:

  1. Application review
  2. 1st run: 9 teams of each category will be chosen
  3. 2nd run: 5 teams of each category will be chosen
  4. Finals: 1winner for each category

Time of Application: December 15th, 2017 to January 19th, 2018.

Application materials: The files listed below must be submitted in PDF format for 1 file (file name: Competition + Category + Name of Team)to the organizers listed in the form by January 15th, 2018.

The Result for Application Review: January 31th (Mon), 2018, on NTHU Entrepreneur Daysofficial website. A notification for the result will be sent to the applicants by email.

  1. Review process

Application review: Professors who are experienced will be reviewers.

1st run:Industry professionals who are experienced will be reviewers.

2nd run:Industry professionals who will coach the teams before the finals will be reviewers.

Finals: VCs will be reviewers.

  1. Award

Every team which attendsthe 1strun competition will receive an entry certificate.

2nd run Competition:The 5 chosen teams of each category canreceive coaching from industry professionals for 3 months. The top 3 of each category can get the award of 10,000 NT Dollars to support theirbusiness plans.

Finals:The winner of each category will receive an award of 300,000 NT Dollars to support theirbusiness plans.

  1. Notification
  1. Teams which conduct in copying, plagiarism or other acts which violates the copyright laws of Republic of China (Taiwan) will be disqualified, and received Award will be retraced. The responsibility of violation of copyright laws will be solely on the participant, and has no relation to the organizers.
  2. Participating with content not reviewed by the organizers will lead to disqualification and retracing of received awards.
  3. Participants need to allow their presentation (PPT) materialsand related images to be used by the organizers for free distribution in relation to this activity, with team names identifiable.
  4. Participants should respect the judgement of reviewers.
  5. Team leader will be the representative to receive the award. The process of giving the award will be allocated through standard procedure of National Tsing Hua University.Team leader shall have bank account in the Republic of China (Taiwan) before receiving the award. Tax shall be withheld in accordance with the following rules:
    -Team leader is resident of the Republic of China (Taiwan):10% of the full amount of payment is withheld.
    -Team leader is non-resident of the Republic of China (Taiwan):20% of the full amount of payment is withheld.
  6. Participating will be regarded as agreeing to the rules listed in the brief. The organizers will fix the rules of this activity if needed.
