NON-PROFIT CAREER IMMERSION TRIP

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Max Shacknai Center for Outreach, Volunteerism and Education (COVE), Center for Career Services and the Common Good Professional Network will host a two-day, non-profit immersion trip to New York City to give students an introduction to the non-profit sector. Through site visits, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, participants will:

Learn about career options within the field,

See different offices and organizational cultures from the inside-out,

Network with alumni.

The trip is $50. Financial assistance is available if needed.

APPLICATION PROCESS and REQUIREMENTS

1.)  Submit an application AND an updated draft of your resume to the COVE (109 Lathrop) by Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Applications can be submitted via hard copy to the COVE, or electronically to

2.)  The program is limited to fifteen students. The COVE will notify applicants by Friday, November 8th to inform applicants if they have been selected to participate. Applications will be evaluated based on the quality of response to short answer questions.

3.)  Resumes needn’t be approved by Career Services to apply, but must be approved prior to the trip as they will be shared with the employers and hosts.

4.)  Attend a pre-program seminar in the week leading up to the program to prepare for your day.
