Reading Fluency—Please make sure your child is reading their Content Reader daily-

Math 5th–Continue with Chapter 7- TEST Begin Ch. 8 this week—multiplying fractions—Also, I have been closely monitoring the students’ homework and I am noticing a correlation—the students who are really giving their homework their best effort are the students that are passing the chapter tests and the students putting forth minimal effort are the ones struggling—in class I give strong directed lessons checking for understanding as we move along and correcting the learning gaps—additionally-- we practice together-- but if the student does not work hard and practice the process independently—(their homework) what they have learned will NOT stick—Please make sure your child is putting forth their best effort--

Multiplication test every Friday—No student passed last week—Only seven more students to pass—Keep studying! Remember the students need to know their Xtable facts to automaticity—otherwise-they WILL continue to fall behind—the new concepts they are learning are already difficult—without knowing their facts they WILL be overwhelmed—the standards are written with the expectation that the students know these facts already coming into 5th—Please make sure your child is studying them at home daily—-Please study with your children at home—THANKS
