HEAD OF HR & OFFICE SERVICES

Job Purpose:To lead the HR function to provide strategic leadership support, guidance and advice on people issues across the firm, ensuring that ACS has the thriving workforce that it needs.To provide leadership on office services and health and safety issues, primarily through the line managementof the OS Manager, ensuring that the services provided meet the needs of the firm.Be an active member of the CMT Heads of department team.

Reporting to:Practice Director

Supervising:HR team and OS Manager

Liaising with:Firm-wide and in particular the Department Leaders and CMT Heads

Key Roles

  • Lead and oversee HRactivity within the firm, working with and developing the HR team.Ensure the HR team is working to support the delivery of the firm’s business plans and the departments can meet there operational needs in relational to people requirements.
  • Support the development of management skills that enable HR issues to be seen and resolved at the local level.
  • Lead workforce planning within the firm, working withthe Department Leadersand Department Managers and otherson planning for and delivering appropriately resourced teams.
  • Lead the development and ongoing renewal of the firm’s employment proposition.
  • Ensure the provision of an effective recruitment and induction function
  • To lead and oversee the development of HR policies and procedures and sign off new policies or significant changes to existing policies in accordance with our Risk and Compliance requirements (these are mainly as part ofLEXCEL accreditation).
  • To ensure that the HR team is an effective contributor and communicator on people issues at all levels of the firm.
  • To lead the development of the firm’s approach to employee engagement.
  • To be the lead on employee relations issues.
  • To be the principal advisor on the, pay, benefits, terms and conditions of employment. This includes playing a central role in the pay review and promotion processes.
  • To identify and lead agreed people management projects across the firm as appropriate
  • To ensure the reporting of HR based management information and to analyse and generate debate on this information periodically.
  • To ensure that ACS employees are appropriately trained and supported in the requirements of their roles both at induction and job change.

Personal Competences

Essential

  • Academically astute
  • Preferably CIPD qualified
  • Significant previous experience in an HR leadership role& Recruitment
  • Strategic thinker and leader of change, able to create a vision of the future and work with others to make the vision a reality
  • Numerate, and confident in handling statistics
  • Significant previous experience of line management
  • Confident using software and IT systems to a high standard
  • Right to work in the UK
